In the midst of much hand-wringing and anguished sighs, the Huffington Post has announced to its readers that after his first year in office Trump Is Winning. This is one of the hardest things Ive ever had to write and admit, begins Earl Ofari Hutchinson, Trump is winning.
Hutchinson, an author and co-host of the Al Sharpton Show, observes that according to numerous indicators the Trump presidency is a success, beginning with his delivery of a long list of campaign promises.
Among Mr. Trumps many victories, Hutchinson enumerates Mick Mulvaneys appointment to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Neil Gorsuchs contribution to the Supreme Court, Scott Pruitts work at the EPA, Trumps support of fossil fuels to make America energy independent, the RNC backing of judge Roy Moore in Alabama, the fizzling out of Russiagate, the passage of the tax reform bill, and the record-level stock market.
Yet all of these wins are small potatoes compared to Trumps three top victories, Hutchinson claims.
First, the President has successfully taken charge of the Republican Party. He is the point man for GOP policy and issues and, in a perverse way, the spur to get action on them, Hutchinson notes.
Second, Mr. Trump has managed to energize his base and keep their loyalty. The overwhelming majority of Republican voters continues to back him, Hutchinson admits. This is the voter loyalty that buys a lot of support from the GOP establishment even as they flail him or shake their head in disgust at his antics, he writes.
Third, Trump has successfully harnessed the mainstream media for his own purposes. He remains a ratings cash cow for the networks and makes stunning copy for the print media, Hutchinson complains.

HuffPost seems to be saying that Trump is a clumsy oaf in office at the same time that it is saying that He is deftly disarming the opposition and winning all his points. Is HP saying that Trump has the Mandate of Heaven?
Based on the left’s behavior, he is definitely winning. :D
Winning! MAGA! LOL. Merry Christmas!
So I guess that makes HuffPo losers!
Thank you.
Tis the season to be jolly.
“Of course, from Hutchinsons perspective, all of these triumphs are bad for America. The Trump base of benighted deplorables and hobbits dont realize that what seem to be victories are really long-term defeats and ultimately wont benefit them at all, he whines.”
What is left of the old extreme left that is extreme to the left anymore?
That alone should tell anyone what I think of the perspectives of good and bad held by those who lead the left, the DNC in particular.
The DNC is like the marching band from Animal House. Folks with bad ideology — the McGovernites, Alinstyites, race radicals and holdover useful idiots ... various shades of the cancer of Cultural Marxism — jumped in and, signaling a sharp left hand turn, have led them into a dead end alley. Now they are all bunched up in the cul-de-sac but rather than recognize their predicament they instead have only turned around to “J’accuse...!”
Everyone who has not followed them to the extreme left is now the extreme right ... well, except for the thin sliver of the old left (within the DNC) which they now consider moderate or even right-of-center (as they often laughably said Hillary to be).
About that last parenthetical statement: I maintain it is often the case on the left that they do not always consider ideology paramount when they describe their own. The Clintons are moderate or right-of-center because of what they were able to do, not because of what they believe or even tried to do (Clintoncare, which arguably lost them the Congress). This applies to themselves as well, for while they embrace the leftyiest of leftism so far they’ve not been able to do it ... so they act as if their accomplishments so far represent where they are on the left-right spectrum and not where their ideology sets them up to go.
Likewise it seems that neither ideology or what is actually done is of importance when describing those who are too far afield from their cul-de-sac. “Fascism” as an accusation isn’t about fascist ideology but a matter of “we vs not-we”. Racism and sexism are also the same, and possibly most virulently so among cool aid drinking white men and women as these are ASSUMED and yet if you are sufficiently “we” you are good because you accept the myth that is arguably as imbedded in Cultural Marxist thought as class warfare is. Thus white far-left progressives can look down their noses at others, freed from ever considering the rightness or wrongness of the very ideas of race or sex that they endorse.
These lefties seem to have forgotten one thing. Trump isn’t winning. America is winning. Every day they try to take out the President is another day they try to harm America.
And that is how we should treat it.
