WaPo: Alabama's desire not to be embarrassed may be the best thing going for Doug Jones
Washington Post ^ | December 11, 2017 | James Hohmann

THE BIG IDEA: There is a stark class divide in the Alabama Senate race. It's larger than the gender gap, and it crosses party lines.

White-collar folks who graduated from college are significantly more likely to defect from GOP candidate Roy Moore than blue-collar, non-college-educated people. The country club set cares far more about their state's reputation and the effect it has on the business climate.

I know this...

(Former Brookwood resident)

Some of those old rebels down there remember reconstruction.

Some who’ve moved away want to forget.

WP trying to use cool kids reverse psychology here. I.e., Cool kids like us wouldn’t want Roy Moore; You want to be cool too, right, Alabama? You can’t hang with us if you vote for Roy Moore.

This from the #1 cheer leader for the first rapist president, Bill Clinton. They regaled us with comments from Democrat women who envied Monica Lewinski. Now they are enraged by mere unsubstantiated accusations against Roy Moore. If this works in AL, they’ll make sure to try it in dozens of campaigns against Republicans in 2018.

If he looked embarrassed like say Kobe Bryant during the rape allegations, then people would sense that he has some guilt.

Not one wants to be embarrassed. Electing Doug Jones, a Democrat, would be embarrassing.

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of gay rights but no Christian rights.

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of Anti gun rights.

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of Transsexual rights but no righyts for men.

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of Anti God but worship Mother Earth

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of High tax and micro management from federal bureaucracies

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of foreign Energy dependence and no American energy jobs

Why would Alabamians vote for the party of Murdering babies while coddling criminals.

Yes we don’t want to embarrass ourselves and Doug Jones has run to the right for this election but he is a democrat

The Washington Post has a lot in common with a Liberal’s maxi-pad.

The embarrassment will be if Alabama voters are gulled by a couple of lying women. Allow yet another trial by newspaper with evidence that would never make it through discovery or even to discovery in an actual trial because there is no real evidence.

The best thing going for the Compost would be to change its name to Socialist Pravda and spare the pretence of being news and journalism.

Well, it’s true that virtue signalling from other states will take place if he’s elected. Virtue signalling is like the bitcoin for Libs...

Show me the internals. Never take a poll to the bank until you see the details.

This one would seem to indicate a late break for Jones, which defies logic.... the only late breaking news was that parts of the yearbook were forged.

Hmmmmn. Hasn’t ANYBODY in the GROPelite or socialist-communist liberal left realized that THESE are the families who fought AGAINST the the Northeast cities and states under the confederate flag not too many generations ago? Yeah, that flag just a few months ago that was stripped off of the flagpoles in Mississippi and SC BY Jones and his supporters in the media?

Is that “NASCAR crowd” going to be “embarrassed” by this WAPO crowd?

We’re so embarrassed... NOT!

I will say this though, many of the younger white professsionals are conditioned (from the Obama years) to virtue signal and they do fit the description in this article.

If Moore wins, it may be the last time Bama can pull off an upset, because the demographics are changing and the old guard is dying off.

My position is that the left hates Alabama anyway, go ahead and vote Roy Moore.

But thinking the Leftist Media will suddenly respect Alabama if they vote for Doug Jones is like thinking the guy you gave it all up for on the first date is going to call you again the next day.

He’s not.

I hope that at the end of Tuesday, that someone at the WA Post who started the Moore sex scandal has to eat crow. This is just another try by that media outlet at influencing an important local vote. Modern day carpetbaggers.
