“Right On! 1000’s of hours of TV reporting and NOT ONE WORD ABOUT ARSON!! NOT ONE!! Illegals, MS-13, Arab SOB’s, Eco Freaks, Anarchists, and the possible list goes on and on.
Why build car bombs when a match will do the same.”

Of course the possibility exists, however these fires have been going on since long before these vermin were around. When the Santa Ana winds blow, all the vegetation drys out and one tiny spark............

Fires like this in California are common and have been for thousands of years. Really, anywhere in the West.

The worst sinner could have prophesied the same thing and would have been right.

We can predict California will have fires until the new heaven and new earth.

You are too easily impressed.

I don’t remember there being so many fires, or such large ones.

I was just looking at a map last night - Mississippi and Florida and several other SE states each use prescribed burning on over a million acres a year.

California was something like 50,000 acres (and a huge state!). The smog regulations had a lot to do with that change back in the 70’s iirc. And of course now it is “climate change” - which both prevents prescribed burns and “causes” the huge fires.

They are searching for a guy wearing all black that they are calling an arsonist. Local news reported it today.

I believe it’s terrorism. ISIS cells can burn down the country with nothing more than 5 gallon gas cans and a match.

That’s because in the communist republic of mexifornistan, they do not allow proper land management.

They do not allow to have forests thinned out or have dead or diseased trees removed.

They do not allow for under brush to be cleared. This includes invasive non-native species.

They do not allow maintaining natural or man made fire breaks.

All because these nutty luddites and environazis who have total control over the state.

Case in point the Sonoma fires back in October. Everyone is lining up to blame PG&E for the fires because the wind storm knocked power lines down. The real people at fault are those who push for draconian environmental regulations that prevent PG&E from trimming trees along their ROW’s.

Oh come on Dave W, of course there have always been fires in California, but surely you don’t think that there number, size, and damage haven’t increased greatly since the 80’s?

No, not at all. The West has always been plagued by wild fires. I remember one in Oakland/Berkeley 20+ years ago. I think over 500 homes were consumed - not certain how many total structures and over 20 killed - many burned in their cars trying to escape. It was on the front page for days.

To predict wildfires in California is no more difficult than predicting the sun will rise.

The reason? the long dry summers, low humidity and high winds. Those three things are something California has in abundance every year, which is why that state always have fires every year. I'm not certain why this is news to you. California fires have been on the front page of my newspaper practically every year since I have been born, which was 58 years ago.

That’s what sets the stage. Arson provides the spark.

Well, sometimes, but not always. The horrible fires in October started via power lines, they think. Arson was ruled out. But it is often human activity. Welding, etc.
