One of the women who accused Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of making advances on her when she was a teen and he a local prosecutor admitted Friday to writing part of the yearbook inscription she offered as proof, a new crack in her story that gives Moore an opening to attack her credibility.
Beverly Young Nelson admitted to ABC News that she added “notes” beneath what she says is Roy Moore’s signature in her high school yearbook – an inscription that she and famed attorney Gloria Allred presented as proof the then-30-something Moore sought an inappropriate relationship with her in the late 1970s. The “notes” below the signature appear to be the handwritten date and location. Nelson still insisted that Moore wrote most of the message.
“Beverly, he did sign your yearbook?" ABC’s Tom Llamas asked her.
“He did sign it,” she said.
“And you made some notes underneath?” Llamas asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
While Nelson did not specify exactly what she added to the inscription, the text beneath Moore's signature reads: "12-22-77 Olde Hickory House.”
During her original press conference with Allred in November, in which she made her original accusation, Nelson read aloud and attributed the entire inscription to Moore, including the date and location.
"He wrote in my yearbook as follows: 'To a sweeter more beautiful girl, I could not say Merry Christmas, Christmas, 1977, Love, Roy Moore, Olde Hickory House. Roy Moore, DA,'" she said.

The reason she wouldn’t release the yearbook is because a handwriting expert would have indicated issues with the evidence. I’ve got a little experience from a case that went to Mast when I was a J.O. involving forged POA docs a wife used to snake assets from a CPO on my ship. Long story.
If the evidence was dispositive, the analysis would have literally been taped to the yearbook - done before the press conference. Not unlike how Franken got hammered with the photos.
The GOAL was to jack the pressure in order to get Moore to fold his hand. He didn’t. He called her bet, and by not submitting the yearbook for analysis she tossed in her hand.
This conference was a figleaf that allowed Allread to get out.
It’s my pure guess that somebody named Ray or Roy signed her yearbook like everybody else, and she turned it into Roy Moore decades later.
And this is why there is a statue of limitation on most crimes. How in the world is anyone going to prove a crime has been committed? How does anyone provide a defense against an accusation when there is no evidence?
It is the timing of the accusation that makes me discount the whole things. This is not the first time Democrats have had woman make claims just before an election.
The Democrats use these charges to destroy a person’s reputation. I for one am glad Roy Moore is standing up to these accusations.
Way too similar to the 1999 signature to be a coincidence. And, oddly, way too similar to be legitimate too.

Exactly. She read the whole text, including what she is now calling “notes,” and attributed all of it to Moore.
The image appears to be a doctored version, also. The earlier ones show two distinct tones of ink. This one does not, but it is a color photo.
Further, the inks differed in width of the lines. It appeared that the last name was added later as well. And that’s not just a lie. It’s forgery.
I wonder what the penalty for forgery is when it is done as a part of election fraud. I wonder what the penalty is for an attorney who knowingly participates in this fraud.
a questioned document examiner can test the ink and date it the fbi has on file something like 10,000 different ink formulas for comparison...the reporter didn’t ask her when she added the notes...
Notice the difference between the number 7 in 1977 and 12-22-77. They are completely different. Someone would have to be blind not to notice that.
All one needs to do is look at San Fran Nan and DIFI...

The next step needs to be to demand proof of her age, because, not to be catty, but those jowls sang Rock Around the Clock when it hit number 1.
I think a lot of us are simply saying that this lady a) seems to have doctored this and did not admit it at first, which shows she's capable of being deceptive, and b) was, by the look of her, no teenager 40 years ago.
I think she could be 56 or 65; I guess only she knows for sure. But she is a thief determined to steal a Senate seat from the people of AL.

The message itself seems wholesome.
At the very absolute minimum, Allred should be disbarred.
Or let’s just cut the crap, and go with this is a blatant attempt to character assassinate the Judge, a non-deep state non-swamp actor, and the woman has admitted to at least a partial forgery, and she won’t produce the yearbook for independent handwriting analysis, and she made no mention that she has at least partial motivation to go against a Judge who threw out her divorce case between the alleged yearbook event and the present?
