No doubt.
No, he didn’t suddenly grab at his waistband. If you ever try pulling a concealed gun out while watching yourself in a mirror, you will find it looks very different and takes more time. Unlike the movies, you cannot just flick your hand and come out with a gun. Not unless you are one of the very few who train to an extremely high level, and those guys don’t go around shooting people.
If I had shot this man, claiming he was going for a gun & I was scared, then as a civilian, I’d be looking at 2nd degree murder. Easy. But a cop - who should be BETTER trained - walks free.
Rodney King needs to thank Stacey Koon. Before the beating that eventually led to Stacey Koon going to prison, a woman cop pulled her gun.
“King grabbed his buttocks, which Officer Melanie Singer took to mean King was reaching for a weapon, though he was later found to be unarmed. She drew her pistol and pointed it at King, ordering him to lie on the ground. Singer approached, gun drawn, preparing to effect an arrest.
At that point LAPD Sergeant Stacey Koon, the ranking officer at the scene, told Singer that the LAPD was taking tactical command of the situation. He ordered all officers to holster their weapons.”

I wonder if we aren’t seeing bad shoots because cops are afraid of getting physical in an arrest. After all, Stacey Koon spent 30 months in prison...
But compare what Stacey Koon did in 1991 to this guy did.
Some commentators here are as disgusting as the traitorous race baiting communists we complain about daily.
Take a look i the mirror.
Why not cover him with the weapon while the other cop walks up and cuffs him???He wouldn't have liked for me to have been on that jury...
Not a tough call at all...What was the point in having these people crawl to the cop instead of him walking up to them??? Intimidation and power trip is all that amounts to...
They want to go home safe & sound at the end of their shift too.
Yea, and if a few tax paying proles have to die well thats just the cost of doing business.
Spit....

No, of course he didn’t suddenly grab at his waistband. The video I am looking at shows someone suddenly grab at their waistband as they advance towards the police officer. But you share Al Sharpton’s narrative on the evil police. That was a completely INNOCENT grab at the waistband while advancing on a law enforcement agent answering a call for a man with a gun yelling instructions at you at gunpoint. Thanks to left’s brainwashing, you are completely unable to distinguish between a totalitarian government goon intent on killing you, and a sworn patriot trying to stay alive while doing his job. I assume you tell your kids to disregard the evil cops and do whatever they want when they are receiving very specific instructions at gunpoint from a law enforcement officer. Send your check made out to “Brother Al”...... although you don’t know it, you’re on the exact same side.
It’s really interesting. I’ve spent my life listening to FIRST HAND stories of truly innocent citizens in foriegn lands who personally witnessed totalitarian goons assault and murder innocent civilians. There was not ONE similarity between their stories, and these stories of the professional american victim class, assaulting, attempting to kill, and ignoring REPEATED (REPEATED,, REPEATED, REPEATED!) instructions to just STOP! Most American Cops (Most) are veterans and patriots. People like you have been trained to view them as nazi stormtroopers. I’ll bet you have never met, spoken to, or read the stories of the victims of “real”nazi stormtroopers”. I’ll also bet you fantasize about blowing away an intruder in your home who breaks into your home and despite warnings, continues to advance on you. the dream probably doesn’t include whether his grab at the wasitband produces a weapon or not.
They are still out there and are still a majority. Unfortunately hiring standards, training, use of force policy and politics are not as they were.
Its not a job for everyone. Its a dangerous job and the risks are high. But generally if you are the kind of person who draws their gun every time you get a little scared you are not in the right career field and are a danger to everyone including your self.
This cop in the video sounded scared to me for no reason. He had a bead on a guy lying on the ground with a fully auto AR-15. Unless the guy was Wyatt Earp he was no threat and the cop was in total control of the suspect and the situation.
He just wasn't in control of his own fear.
He wouldn’t have liked for me to have been on that jury.
Me either, please see my post #70.
“But you share Al Sharptons narrative on the evil police.”
Don’t be insane. Hell, I’ve cited Stacey Koon of Rodney King fame as a GOOD COP doing his job. Your hyperbole unmasks you as someone who is not a serious thinker!
“...and a sworn patriot trying to stay alive while doing his job.”
Stop embarrassing yourself! The cop was FIRED. He had “Your fucked” on his rifle cover. That wasn’t a “sworn patriot”.
“Most American Cops (Most) are veterans and patriots. People like you have been trained to view them as nazi stormtroopers.”
25 years in the military. My Dad had 27 in when he died in Vietnam. Two of my kids went in the military, serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I was in Afghanistan. Don’t whine to me about veterans. I AM ONE!
You are a pathetic, boot-licking, out-of-control nutjob. I admire cops with guts, not out of control, cowardly control freaks who dream of shooting someone.
Spit right back at you.
“You are a pathetic, boot-licking, out-of-control nutjob”
But how do you really feel?
The jury that heard the case came to a different conclusion. Perhaps you should take it up with them. After all, I did say I was surprised that a jury reached this verdict. Could it possibly be that evidence provided in the trial but absent in this article may hold the reason as to why they ruled as they did?
I would love to see you in a situation such as this.
Never been a cop, was in The Corps under fire more than once. Never put 5 rounds into a drunk guy in his underwear.
So yea, Ill spit in this roid boy wannbes general direction.

No use arguing with someone who watches an innocent man murdered by a hyped-up SWAT wanna-be and calls it a good shoot. No one in their right mind, military or civilian LEO, would ever want a partner like this in the field.
The militarization of our police force is an evil trendthe police and military have distinct and separate duties that require completely different mindsets. These shootings and the lack of consequences reinforce the false narratives promulgated by the worst from both sides.
In your opinion, however, the jury that heard the case came to a different conclusion. You remind me of a Monday morning quarterback that is critical of the actual quarterback in the game, with hindsight that he did not enjoy.
Why the jury came to a different conclusion is not evident from this article. Funny how some see fake news on certain topics, yet trust the press entirely on other topics.
If it had been me, I would have attempted to handcuff him while he was down on the floor, unless the directive I had been given was to make them do exactly what he told them to do. Damn shame the guy tried to pull up his pants.
But the 2 scenarios, yours & this, are comparing apples to oranges. They are so different in many ways.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
This cop got away with murder. I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life looking over his shoulder.
