The NAACP on Tuesday announced opposition to President Trump attending the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum this weekend, saying he has created a "racially hostile climate."
[Snip]
Amos Brown, an NAACP board member and Jackson native, called Trumps planned appearance "an insult."
Trump has repeatedly faced backlash for making inflammatory statements about minority groups and sparked controversy after the deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., for saying that "both sides" were to blame.
He has been harshly critical of NFL players who kneel during the national anthem to protest racial inequality, and feuded with the father of a UCLA basketball player after he downplayed Trumps role in securing the release of his son and two other players from China, where they had been arrested for shoplifting.
Can he go if he agrees not to sit at the lunch counter?
So why try to please them at all? It’s futility to do so.

If Trump said he’s attending then I assume it’s because someone invited him. Take it up with them.
I remember watching a Sharpton demonstration when Rudy was in office; there were probably six reporters and four protesters (that is how small the “portable mob” had become). He was walking back and forth and they kept following him with the cameras so they wouldn’t have to provide a still shot showing just four race-hustlers with him.
I would never want any job (president, mayor, etc.) where you are expected to treat a POS like this as a person.
Losers.
Barrack Obama reignites the race war, and they accuse Trump of fermenting a racially hostile environment?
The NAACP has gone the way of the DoDo.!
I should not attend as well.
So now disagreeing with a black person on situations that have absolutely nothing to do with race is inherently racist.
Yes.
I haven’t forgotten and I bring it up all the time whenever Al Sharpton is involved in anything.
The Asians?
He was a monster in that and you are correct.
It's "Typical White People's" fault, not self imposed lack of education or skills, lack of work ethic, propensity for violence and criminality, poor impulse control, drug use and indiscriminate out of wedlock breeding.
After 8 years of "America's first black president" was the black community better off?
Umm...No!
Pres Trump shouldn't give these race hustlers the time of day.
Oh, yeah, that'll stop him. He shows up, they'll either back down, or they'm make themselves look like the racist assholes they are through more violence and screaming and yelling.
Thanks Zakeet.
Orly? Please, elaborate.
...and sparked controversy after the deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., for saying that "both sides" were to blame.
The President didn't spark controversy, The race-baiters and Fake News Media fanned the flames of racial division based on totally erroneous characterizations of what the President said in the aftermath of the Charlottesville incident.
To reiterate: the Left is a bunch of lying, propagandist sh!t-stirrers, and nothing more. The Left has absolutely nothing constructive to contribute to any debate which this country is engaging in, and they can do nothing but resort to blind hatred.
Consequently, the extremist Left is being increasingly dismissed and isolated—by intelligent, thinking, Patriotic Americans of all races, creeds, and ethnicities—and the People are rightly seeing these hysterical, unhinged elements as driving the nation towards a needless and bloody civil war...
Under the circumstances theres no reason for Trump to attend the event, especially if the NAACP is there.
Feel the Love.
It’s not the NAACP’s museum. It’s the State of Mississippi’s and wouldn’t be there but for the efforts of many but especially Haley Barbour (R-MS). President Trump, by his presence, is honoring that, and not the NAACP.
It's cultural appropriation.
White people invented cars and smart phones - - STOP stealing OUR culture NAACP... YOU give up the smartphones - we'll give up eating peanut butter.
