The Atlantic: Trump's Food Choices Grow More Disconcerting
The Atlantic ^ | 12/02/17 | James Hamblin

Posted on 12/03/2017 10:37:42 AM PST by Simon Green

A new memoir implicates the Filet-O-Fish in a 2,400-calorie dinner.

“Trump’s appetite seems to know no bounds when it comes to McDonald’s, with a dinner order consisting of two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted.”

This 2,400-calorie meal is among the details in a forthcoming book by Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and aid David Bossie, as described in a preview by The Washington Post.

A dinner of that size would offer caloric energy for a full day. The 3,400 milligrams of sodium more than doubles the American Heart Association’s recommendation of 1,500 milligrams per day. The meal provides almost no fiber—and also offers more white bread than anyone would do well to eat in a week. This is all ominous for the president’s cardiovascular system.

So is the lack of variety. The book’s authors, who traveled with Trump early in his presidency, write: “On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza, and Diet Coke.”

Keeping the Coke sugar-free is an interesting line to draw—especially as a man who once said, “I have never seen a thin person drink Diet Coke.”

The food enters the President not only in abundance, but with haste. Ivanka Trump said in a 2015 interview with Barbara Walters, “I wish he would eat healthier and maybe slow down. Sometimes I tell him, like, ‘Oh, you have to, you know, slow down.’ But it’s the only speed he knows ...”

All of this could be taken as simple evidence of Trump’s cultural vacuousness. He should know other speeds; he has dined with other people. He should enjoy a wide array of foods; he has been afforded the opportunity to have anything he wants.

I could easily eat that, but I wouldn’t have any urge to eat until the next day. I might have a snack (popcorn etc.) later that evening, but not likely.

Also, the intelligentsia must be upset that Trump doesn’t act as if the taste of kale is palatable and seems to ignore the whole “if it tastes funky, it must be healthy” ethos.

Wait a minute. Wasn't B.J. Clinton declared the first black President based on his greazy diet?

Sounds like President Trump is blacker than Clinton.

The Atlantic. What a bunch of racists.

By the Way and for the record........ McRip is back for it’s limited annual run.

It gloriously drips the sauce all over everything. Lots of napkins are needed.

Morons. A full day’s activity doing what? What else did he eat that day? Working like he worked during the campaign, a 2400 calorie dinner isn’t out of bounds at all. Now, I’d rather see (for me anyway) those calories come from a better source, but on the road, you sometimes have to make do. And the stupid sodium guidelines from the AHA are dangerously low.

These soy-fed beta cucks don’t know a damn thing about nutrition or good health, which is why guys like me are going to outlive all of their sorry little girly butts.

And if he ate kobe beef and arugula, The Atlantic would castigate him as not a man-of-the-people. They would be apoplectic if he flew AF1 to NY for dinner, but for Obama, it was “romantic”....

Petty.

But is actually a good sign for our side. If they really had something they would not have even published such a story.

But like a lot of what the main stream media writes about, it shows their disconnect with middle America.

McDonalds is not one of the biggest Restaurant chains because people hate them. They are big because they provide food at prices people can afford.

Should President Trump live on McDonalds, of course not, and I don’t think he does. But is it okay for him to eat there, that is his decision not the medias.

I am 70 years old and I eat a McDonalds burger about once a month (my doctor hates it but I figure I don’t have that many years left anyway, so screw them)
