Bloviating abroad, Obama reminds us why we elected Trump

Miss him yet? Former President Obama is back, taking big-dollar speaking engagements in places like Paris, and unintentionally reminding us why we elected Trump.

Based on his speech for a group of communications executives called 'Les Napoleons,' he thinks women make better leaders than men, men are 'having problems' with sex harassment, global warming's Paris Treaty is coming back, and 'global challenges' must be faced.

Retch. Miss him yet?

Agence Presse-France has a couple of versions of the ex-president's Paris speech yesterday and it's godawful. They can be read here and here.

What Obama's speech was full of provides a handy checklist for why we voted for Trump. To wit, it includes:

“I grant you that at the moment we have a temporary absence of American leadership on the issue,” Obama said, to laughter in the audience packed with French CEOs and former ministers.

But the US remains on track to meet its targets, he said, thanks to the action of some states, cities and because it made “business sense”.

Business sense? For starters, what would Obama, community organizer in chief, know about business sense? Obama seems to be opaque to the reality that the Paris climate accord cost millions in productivity, tacked on insane costs and empowered a eurochicken-style bureaucracy, looking to expand its power. As for absence of leadership, ask again why so many nations want out of that accord based on our lead? The French, if they have any sense, should appreciate the fool's existential absurdity.

The one thing I’ll remember about the Obama years is feeling stupid for working and paying my bills. No, I don’t miss that.

Nostalgic for the times when the peanut farmer was the worst President.

Actually, the move to generate power from natural gas has allowed the US to meet 2025 guidelines.

> he thinks women make better leaders than men <

Well, Sarah Palin was running for vice-president back in 2008. Funny how Obama didn’t make the above comment back then.

He has managed to become filthy rich during his “public service,” and he certainly loves the attention he can get from other Socialists/Communists abroad, so he’ll be raking in the millions that Hillary used to get for her bad speeches.

But what in the world can these stupid governments think they are getting in return from a has-been U.S. president?

As I posted recently, I believe the statists are about to enter a multi-year wilderness stroll, much like the conservative movement got stuck in a nested Reagan do-loop from 1993-2016.

Now, mind you, the man was the best president in my lifetime (until now perhaps...) and we should always remember best practices. However, we never acclimatized. During that time, Hannity and Rush or some other conservative HAD to mention Reagan or compare everything to Reagan or suggest how Reagan would have handled this or that...a virtual WWRD attitude.

Thus, the lovers of liberty got NOWHERE during that time. It's a bit like the current state of music and The Rolling Stones....they continue playing and recording but beyond Bittersweet Symphony they haven't done anything memorable since the early 1980s. Nonetheless, people prattle on about the Stones - and music doesn't get better.

Parenthetically, Trump is a bit like The Who, who while not recording new material are redoing old stuff anew, and turned in perhaps the most meaningful live performance in the history of rock on The Concert for New York. The Who remains entertaining AND is inspiring new musicians, and hopefully giving us some good new music.

I say, bring on more of Obama...let the statists and globalist sand #Nevertrumpers keep rolling with their longing for the 2008-2016 years. Hopefully, that will give us enough time to bring back liberty and freedom and prosperity to the nation.

The problem here is I just don’t see this as ‘bloviating.’ Obama is working hard to undermine the foreign policy of a sitting President. Obama is attempting to save his own bad foreign policy and policy mistakes as they are being rolled back one at a time.

It has been noted time and again that 0bama is traipsing behind every one of the President’s visits, talking to foreign leaders, and this truly raises the question...why? No other former President has done this kind of thing unless at the behest of the sitting President.

0bama did a lot of damage to the country and around the world. Even to this day many here on FR discount his ability to ‘get things done.’ I don’t discount him, don’t trust him, and we really shouldn’t dismiss this behavior out of hand. If he was failing at it...he wouldn’t keep doing it. So perhaps we’re not paying enough attention here.

Very interesting comparison and imagery.
Conservatives must keep focused on the next frontier.

President Trump is an out of the box thinker and has attracted many of that type of minds to his administration. America is being reforged to its original ideals using modern tools. Infrastructure, manufacturing base, banking, international relations, healthcare, the rule of law no ingredient for America’s success is being ignored by POTUS & his merry band who have been thinking about how to build it better for many many years.

The best part of your post was the statists in a multiyear wilderness do-loop. May they enjoy their time there because I know I will.

I am curious why it is allowed.

He has no standing and the Logan Act makes it is illegal for unauthorized American citizens to interfering in disputes or controversies between the United States and foreign governments. ... The US government has threatened to use the Act to stop Americans from negotiating with foreign governments. Why isn’t this being enforced?

the speech is just a cover for some thing else behind the scenes they are actually paying for. Obama has no good wisdom to share.
