Trump’s presidency is far better than his Twitter feed
NY Post ^ | November 30, 2017 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 12/01/2017 1:51:20 PM PST by Oshkalaboomboom

The president of the United States wakes up some mornings seemingly determined to convince as many people as possible that he’s unsuited to high office.

Fortunately for him, he has a Twitter account, allowing him to act on this impulse immediately and without any filter.

On Wednesday, Trump retweeted three videos from an apparatchik of an extremist party in Britain purporting to show acts of violence by Muslims. One of them is reportedly fake — it’s not clear the perpetrator is a Muslim. He then defended himself in a tweet to UK Prime Minister Theresa May — or, at least, he tried. He ended up tagging someone else with the same name.

He followed up his video retweets with a message calling for the firing of “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on the basis of a noxious conspiracy theory.

It’s difficult to exaggerate how mind-blowing these tweets are.

Yet Trump’s presidency operates on a largely separate track than his Twitter feed and his other off-script interjections and pronouncements. His domestic policy is so conventional that it could’ve been cooked up by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell — and, in fact, it was. He’s pursued a largely status quo foreign policy, except more cautious than Barack Obama’s and, especially, George W. Bush’s.

Amid the miasma of manufactured controversies, lurid distractions and conspiracy theories, Trump’s presidency is, as Mark Twain is supposed to have said of Wagner’s music, “better than it sounds.”

Trump's also doing a lot better than the National Review since they decided to go all in on NeverTrump

It’s hard to beat his twitter feed too, isn’t it, Rich?

Gotta admit, I am still not a huge fan of his twittering, I mean, When the tweets are good, they are FANTASTIC, when they aren’t so good, they are... meh, at best, infantile at worst. But all in all, I’ll take him.

I like the way trump’s twitter feed leaves the left all balled up.

I think the stuff that Lowry hates is what I like most about the President.

Sometimes, which is ofttimes, if it wasn’t for his Twitter feed I imagine much of the left’s audience out there would not know what is really going on at all.

As Scott Adams predicted, by the end of the year the narrative is swinging from “Incompetent” to “Competent, but we don’t like it.” (Remember, at the start of the year it was “Trump is Hitler!”)

Trump could improve his tweets by tweeting issues, facts that are not reported in the media, and humerous put-downs of the type that President Reagan was so good at.

The other day when he had the meeting with the Navajo code talkers he was in great form. It was inspiring (and entertaining) to watch. Naturally the media focused 100% on his throwaway jab at Liz Warren that maybe occupied 30 seconds of the event. Fortunately the Deplorables have caught on to the media’s ways.

Lowry and the MSM are played for fools each and every day by the President with his exquisite early morning twitter distractions. It immediately becomes the MSM sideshow for the day while the President proceeds to do the countries business. It appears they will never figure this out and continue to take the bait.

His tweets truly appear to come from a real man. A man of the people. Not some manufactured man born and raised for political office. I love him. MAGA. 🇺🇸

Face it Rich, we know you campaigned hard against him for a lot more than just his twitter feed, so you have a lot more sucking up to do if you want to board the train now.

As for me, I would prefer much more surgically precise responses from Trump on twitter myself, but the President clearly prefers the damage caused by using a very blunt object when it comes to his posts. And since it seems to be working, I’m sure no changes are planned.

Note to Rich Lowery; what turned GWB’s numbers negative? The incessant drumbeat of leftist accusations that Bush deemed unworthy of response. Trump’s supporters love the fact that he will take on anybody and not stand by and he demeaned without a responding counter attack. GOPe like Lowery just don’t get it that Republican presidents will never be loved by the leftist pop culture no matter how presidential they act.

I'd very much like to see DJT continue tweeting. But while tweets by a *candidate* calling someone "stupid" or "crooked" might be OK a President should use words/phrases like "deeply unfortunate" and "a very dangerous guy" (in describing "Rocket Man").

I once saw the word "diplomacy" defined as "the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way as to make him look forward to the trip".

Just sayin'...

His Twitter feed is similar to the force field around the Starship Enterprise, except in a political way.

His enemies (our enemies) can’t obfuscate Trump’s policy moves, when his Twitter rants seem like such low hanging fruit to hammer on. Except there is no traction on the rants because tomorrow there is a new one that makes today’s rant obsolete.
