Garrison Keillor, the former host of "A Prairie Home Companion," says he's been fired by Minnesota Public Radio over allegations of improper behavior.
Keillor told The Associated Press of his firing in an email. In a follow-up statement, he says he was fired over "a story that I think is more interesting and more complicated than the version MPR heard."

Every Keillor monologue has all the sparkle and joy of a non-denominational funeral.
We’re about the same age. My mom used to have him on the radio. I had no idea what he was talking about but his voice was pretty soothing. As I got older I would listen to some of his stories, but our parent’s generation knew him well.
Clearly a victim of ketchup deprivation syndrome, n’est ce pas?
He is Mr smug Whispering voice storyteller. You would know him if you heard him.

That said I often enjoyed his work.
Moreso after reading of a lawsuit charging that Garrison added a character to his show, belittling a former boyfriend of his then-girlfriend.

I used to enjoy his radio show. It was funny and entertaining and original. When I saw his harsh and heavy leftist rants, it spoiled for me. An entertaining and nasty SOB.

What? No more stories of Lake Wobegon? Didn’t they pay him enough to procure the required services around the corner?
This is proving Dennis Prager’s theory he’s speaking about on air now about big, vocal leftist views being a protective cover over some really poor morality and evil selfish behavior. That “holy leftism” is the shield to protect crappy people and help them look good and fool even themselves that they are scummy.
About 20 years ago, a daughter of one of my mother's friends had recently stopped working for either Keillor or MPR, and she vented about what an absolute ass the man was. None of what I can recall was of a sexual nature, but what I do remember gave me the impression that he would never hire someone able to deck him because otherwise he would be getting his clock cleaned.
