Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, told his parliament last week that he has “no intention” of accepting more migrants despite pressure from the UN Refugee Agency. Their leadership also seems to be pretty happy with Trump, another sign of sanity.

Compare that to the EU claiming that only unlimited migration will “ save” Europe

He must love his country and its culture. The rest of the world’s leaders are busy destroying theirs.

There may be economic ups and downs in Japan but when all is said and done it will still be Japan.

Japan was closed for immigration for four hundred years under the Tokugawa shogunate. Didn’t seem to hold Japan back. Of course, immigrants that managed to find their way to Japan during that period were usually dispatched with a samurai sword.

Wthere are about 60,000 Muslims in Japan.

if you dress differently from the others your life becomes difficult. people are afraid of you and generally, don’t want to do business with you.

They’ll be very very polite about it, but they won’t probably won’t want to be your friend, would be extremely reluctant to rent an apartment to you or help you open a bank account, ecetera.

There will be robots planting rice in Japan or turning over hotel rooms before illegal aliens do that.

or any legal immigrants, either.

A nation has the right to protect its culture. What I'd like to know is where all these "migrants" are coming from. It seems like a fairly new thing happening. What's happening in the countries these "migrants" are from? Why is the UN pushing wealthy nations to take in migrants when they should be working to make those nations more hospitable to live in?

A suspicious person would think there is some plan to spread muslims around to every country and then procreate like mad in order to become the dominate culture. There's more than one way to invade a country.....

Japan apparently has sane rulers who try to look out for their nation and its citizens.
Good for them.

Very intelligent decision.

Why don't the members of the UN Refugee Agency take in some refugees in their homes, especially if they have young daughters?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? LOL!

Grew up in Chicago and love that movie; also love Ben Stein. :)

During the long period of national isolation when the Black Ships came to Japan from abroad the local people were told to shut their shutters and curtains and in every case to avoid even LOOKING at the foreign Black Ships.

The Western mind very closely associates xenophobia with Bad Manners; the mere idea of a polite xenophobe is extremely difficult to understand but that is absolutely the case in Japan.

“or any legal immigrants, either”

Things are somewhat changing for legal immigrants, Japan’s population is rapidly aging, at least skilled workers will have a place of some sort in Japan.

In talking with many younger Japanese, regardless of their perception about President Trump, many want to study and work in the US, Canada, etc.

Japan is smart. It has only a few muzzies, and they are already a problem. If it were smarter, it would kick them out.
