Sen. Lindsey Graham bemoaned President Donald Trump's support for Alabama Senate Republican candidate Roy Moore on Sunday, calling the move a lose-lose situation.

"If he wins, we get the baggage of him winning, and it becomes a story every day about whether or not you believe the women or Roy Moore, should he stay in the Senate, should he be expelled?" Graham said on CNN's "State of the Union." "If you lose, you give the Senate seat to a Democrat at a time where we need all the votes we can get.

The whole expulsion thing is an obvious bluff. Like Republicans are going to spend a midterm year holding hearings on decades-old allegations about a Republican Senator doing things with a 14-year-old, hearings which would involve Roy Moore and his accusers testifying. They're not committing political suicide like that. If Moore wins, Washington Republicans will mostly shut up about it.

Furthermore, expelling someone over allegations, with no charges much less a conviction seems like a bad precedent. Polls show over 90% of people in Alabama have heard about this too. It'd be one thing if Moore was a sitting Senator, but it's well-known now, and it's the people of Alabama's choice if it bothers them enough not to elect Moore to the Senate. Mitch McConnell and company shouldn't get veto power over Alabamians' choice.

The fundamental problem here is that the Senate (Graham) thinks Moore should represent the Senate and all that implies, while Moore thinks he should represent the people of Alabama. Those two world views are completely at odds with each other.

Graham, like the rest of the Cheap Labor Express Republicans, does not want the citizens of Alabama (or any state) electing anyone who sides with them and the rule of law.

Everything to them is about the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
Protecting the demographic changes they have made to the country against the will of the citizens is paramount.

Oh, you mean like how that happened with the 300+ perverts in the Senate and House now? Utter BS! Roy Moore wins, gets seated and the phony allegations and the accusers get forgotten faster than you jerks can waste a billion dollars.

Poor Senator Graham! He has already forgotten that winners & losers are to be chosen by the voters of Alabama!

Lindsey Graham, who has betrayed America more times than any other so-called republican, complains about giving a Senate seat to a Democrat at a time where we need all the votes we can get? That is ironic.

Follow the money. Democrats are spending more than $250,000 a day trying to win this Senate race in Alabama. It's clear they think Doug Jones winning is better for them than the pundits' idea of Republicans being politically hurt by Roy Moore being in the U.S. Senate, though I'm sure that's the Democratic Party's backup spin if they lose.

Better yet, let the voters amend the Constitution to eliminate the stagnant swamp known as the Senate. They are do-nothings, broken-down show horses when work horses are called for. And a less admirable bunch of egoists would be hard to find. Away with all of them.

Like Graham has never harmed that GOP voting advantage by refusing to support conservative bills.
