'Going well beyond his authority as prosecutor'
Alan Dershowitz is blasting Special Counsel Robert Mueller for trying to turn President Trump’s constitutional actions into crimes.
Mueller, who was appointed to investigate claims the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 election, is “going well beyond his authority as a prosecutor,” Dershowitz stated in an interview with Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime.”
Dershowitz, a Harvard law professor emeritus, said it was “very worrying” that Mueller requested documents from the Justice Department regarding Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ recusal from the Russia probe.
Mueller is now scheduled to interview several White House officials.
“The president is entitled to fire the head of the FBI,” Dershowitz said. “The president is entitled to direct his attorney general who to investigate, who not to. That’s what the law has been since Thomas Jefferson directed his attorney general to go after Aaron Burr.”
If the law is to be changed, it must be done by a legislature, not a prosecutor, the professor insisted.
“I don’t see that the prosecutor should have a right to turn a constitutionally protected act of the president into a crime by speculating on what his motive might have been,” Dershowitz said, adding, “These are political sins if they are sins at all. They are not crimes.”
Dershowitz, a lifelong Democrat, said he believes there should be no special counsel investigations of either Trump or Hillary Clinton. Instead, he favors a bipartisan national commission to look into Russian influence on American elections so it doesn’t happen again.

OF COURSE Mueller is going after Trump. He is going to take him down for firing his best bud Comey. This is why his entire staff is made up of Clinton supporters and Trump haters.
I just don’t know where you guys get this “Mueller is working with Trump” stuff. It’s a very dangerous fantasy.
We get it from Q Clearance/QANON on 4chan. We get it from the fact that Mueller visited the White House and met with President Trump the day before he was appointed. We get if from the fact that both Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein were involved, on the DOJ side, with the Uranium One investigation. We get from the fact that Donald Trump is Batman! ;-)
I suppose but like being an observer of anything, when some of the details aren't stacking up, it's wise to think through other scenarios until it all make sense....

If Mueller was working for Trump the Russian probe would be over already and knowing what we already know now about Russia and Uranium One Mueller should recuse himself because he’s going to become a witness/perp soon .
Mueller wants Trump real bad !!!
Recommendation: Fire Mueller Now!

Trump is taking down the entire Deep State. All of it. That can’t be done in a day.
Remember, Donald Trump promised to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Clinton at the Second Debate. That is a promise he could keep all by himself. And, Shazam! we have a Special Counsel whose cover story is investigating Trump-Russian collusion, and related matters. That is how one runs a Psychological Operation.
As QANON has said: Misdirection is necessary.
Dershowitz makes some good points. But he claims prosecutors are used by both sides to go after political enemies.
Maybe. But it is about 20 to 1 dominated by Democrats for two basic reasons.
First, the Media has been overwhelmingly partisan for Democrats. Only now is there a bit of alternate media that is conservative.
Second, Progressives, by their philosophy are not constrained by morals or ethics. Conservatives generally have some constraints.
The only problem is, as the old saying goes, how many legions does Dershowitz have?
