Lindsay Shepherd, a graduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, is speaking out after the school accused her of violating their policies of trans-phobia for playing a TVO segment featuring featuring polarizing University of Toronto professor Jordan Peterson.
Here’s a recording of her conversation with the University officials:
Apparently even engaging in debate = a thought crime.
Thoughts and words = “gender conceptual violence”
If you can’t think critically, why does the university bother having a critical thinking course??
Laurier is fairly close to home for me.
What the Hell has happened to that place?
It used to be known as Waterloo Lutheran University, and still hosts the main Lutheran Seminary in Canada...
I’ve been listening to Jordan Peterson’s podcasts. The man is brilliant.
He says that Canada has literally incorporated insanity and irrationality into its laws, and he is correct.
Hopefully most FReepers know who Jordan Peterson is. If you do not, spend some time on YouTube watching some of his lectures or debates. The man is a treasure. Anyone showing his videos is almost certainly an ally to our side.
He interviewed Camille Paglia not long ago.
I listened to that one. Over an hour long, very interesting.
The administrator berated her for presenting arguments that”made a student uncomfortable” and thus created a “toxic” learning environment.
How well would a complaint from a student be received, if he declared that a professor spouting pro-gay rhetoric made him uncomfortable? Would the professor be dragged into a similar inquisition? Or would the complaining student?
So, reading from the grammar book is now a crime?
“he, she, it, his, her, its, him, her, it” Ooooooohhhhhh! a thought crime!! Those evil sexist PRONOUNS!
EEEEEEKKKKK! “his, hers, its” I said it!!!!! take away my diploma!!!
Such a student opposing the gay agenda would be guilty of creating a toxic environment and guilty of “gender conceptual violence.”
That means even thinking in a way the left doesn’t approve is violence.
And the goalposts are moving. Today opposing gay marriage is toxic. Tomorrow opposing “man-boy love” might get you censured.
I wish these people would get this straight.

She certainly got an education in PC culture. You can’t even DISCUSS anything that doesn’t match their agenda - and the agenda is daily sliding further to the left.
