On Thursday morning, Los Angeles radio host Leeann Tweeden wrote in a disturbing article alleging that Sen. Al Franken sexually harassed her on a 2006 USO tour. According to Tweeden, Franken coerced her into rehearsing a kiss for a skit, then forcefully stuck his tongue in her mouth. She also provided a photograph of Franken appearing to grope her while she slept.
There is no rational reason to doubt the truth of Tweedens accusations, no legitimate defense of Frankens actions, and no ambiguity here at all: Franken should resign from the Senate immediately. Democrats should call for him to step down straightaway. This revelation is a test of the Democratic Partys consistency, honesty, and decency. If Democrats wish to preserve whatever moral standing they have today, they must exhort Franken to leave the Senate, with no hesitation or reservations.
The hypocrisy of Frankens reaction is galling. Following the Harvey Weinstein scandal, the senator wrote an impassioned Facebook post declaring that sexual harassment is appalling and far too common. He added that it takes a lot of courage to come forward, and we owe them our thanks. Franken then praised Gretchen Carlson for writing about the disappointing responses women often face when they go public both embolden harassers and encourage victims to stay silent.
Yet another self-proclaimed defender of womens rights has revealed himself to be a misogynistic fraud. Frankens ardent promotion of gender equality on the Senate floor is rendered meaningless in the face of his disgusting conduct.

If that could possibly be true is would have been true anytime since 1992 as well.
Resignations are only for R-squishes.
This has nothing to do with principles and has everything to do with preserving one of the left’s favorite weapons against conservatives.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Franken is gone before Monday. This is a rabidly leftist website calling for him to resign.
“Democrats Credibility”
LoL.
I am calling fake outrage here. Sanctimonious. They just want to bludgeon Roy Moore or anyone like him.
Does the Gov appoint a replacement or is there an election or the first person to touch Al gets his job
A Franken resignation would not lead to a Republican pick up of that Senate seat. Mark Dayton would appoint a replacement and a Democrat would win a special election.
I’ll have to look at a few local whack job liberals on twitter I know for some entertainment.
I use a VPN and a browser that has never signed in on Twitter.
Slate?.......................Throwing a (D) under the Bus?...............Is that a pig flying by my window?..................
I can’t believe I want him to stay...for a little longer at least.
The RATs are more than willing to sacrifice Silly Al if it gives them more leverage on Moore.
Democrats have credibility LOL SINCE WHEN..this is the same Democrat Party that voted for Bill Clinton..TWICE, even after being accused of rape, not sexual harassment, but RAPE, and they still voted for him
they have to sacrifice Franken to get Moore. dim governor in the land of 10000 lakes..
Yes but the embarrassment that is Al franken would be gone.. Minnesota has some great people, who sadly tend to vote idiotically at times
It’s not sexual harassment. It’s sexual assault.
I understand there is bias from the left on who gets in trouble for what, but
‘both sides’ need to taper this torrent of virtue signaling.
If everyone, man and woman, was prosecuted for everything they’ve done since birth to ‘offend’ somebody, there would be NO ONE LEFT to hold a job - anywhere.
In this instance, some of Al Franken’s actions do have to be viewed through a lens of ‘what comedians do in front of a camera’. Comedians are going to act up. Eddie Murphy used to do this sort of thing too. The girl is there primarily because she is sexy, sexy enough to be in Playboy Magazine. I guarantee that influences how other people will act around you. She was not in Afghanistan because she ‘helped invent the internet’ like Heddy Lamar.
