You have replied to the wrong person. I was never a part of any discussion over whether or not MS was hereditary, or whether or not states charge for license plates.
I do hope you go back and reread MY post.
Have a very nice day and a Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm not sure why you and your buddy are so sensitive to questions.
I believe it. Its hard to find a handicap space open wherever you go.
Why on earth would she publicize this?
If it happened to me I’d toss the note in the trash——and move on.
Some people LOVE publicity and playing the victim card.
.
If she was in a go to the gym condition, why use the handicap parking. Just because you have a sticker, does not mean you have to use it.
I had a grocery store nearby that had a parking slot closest to the door signed for the use of pregnant women only. It was no surprise to see the only people using it were blacks who were neither pregnant nor necessarily women.
In Ohio a placard good for five years is currently $5, and requires a doctor’s prescription. Plates are $65, depending on the county’s tax
Wiser Now,
I’m sorry but the post was not directed at YOU but merely tagged on to the last post before I did my rant (which was yours). The hazards of reading through 4 pages of a thread and not going back to the specific postings.
*******
And some people LOVE trashing others when they know nothing about the situation.
One of the possible side effects of MS is something called “emotional incontinence” which could explain her breaking down seeing the note. Not saying this woman is affected by it but certainly a possibility. Perhaps she posted this so others would learn from the asinine actions of the idiot that left the note. It's obvious from most of the postings here that the note writer isn't in the minority.
Having a disability is stigmatizing in, and of, itself without having complete strangers passing judgment on you because of it. I have no idea how many people in this thread are Christians but I was always taught, as a Christian, that judgment was the one of God's jobs and not mine. It appears that I went to a different Church than most here.
This happens a lot to people with MS.
They park, they get put without crutches or a wheelchair and walk in.
People see this and assume the worst.
When you have MS - a long walk across a parking lot in extreme warm or cold can wipe you out for the rest of the day.
It could be nice if people minded their own business.
My spouse with MS, unless she sees a grocery cart within a Handicap parking space, or next to, then she will drive to any open parking space that has a grocery cart there. She needs the cart to steady her on her feet to go to and from the stores. She prefers using her rollator,

- but finds it sometimes difficult to lift it in and out of the car.
She sometimes stumbles, and she tripped on a sidewalk. Once, a thoughtless person laughed at her when that happened.
?? Meaning?
“And some people LOVE trashing others when they know nothing about the situation.”
I was neither trashing her personally OR her medical condition.
I was criticizing her reaction to a dumb note——she went and publicized it.
Lighten up.

I’m surprised you’ve not run into it before.
“This” is equivalent to +1 and ^5.
It means I agree.
You DON’T think the world would be better if NO one had, or passed on, terrible debilitating diseases like MS, ALS,schizophrenia etc? You don’t think finding a way to stop these diseases being passed on to future generations would be a good thing? In lieu of medical science finding a way to prevent that you think it’s a BAD thing for those who are suffering to decide NOT to have children who would likely suffer the same diseases? Are you implying that choosing not to have children for that reason is the same as exterminating existing people? If you believe that, then you think that choosing to remain childless(for whatever reason) is the same as abortion. One scenario results in sadness and longing, the other bloody body parts on a tray.
You are conflating multiple issues among them legality, ethics and civility.
You are correct, it is illegal to park in a handicap area without a sticker or tag. People do however. I believe people should speak up when they encounter such behavior. You apparently do not.
People obtain or use stickers that they have no right to. That is also illegal and again I am willing to speak up and you are not.
People who are legally entitled to a sticker and to park in a handicap space - still have an ethical issue each time they chose park as to whether they need to park in the space, if, like the woman in this post, her condition varies significantly through time. That situation does not appear to be applicable to your husband so there is no issue. For this woman though, she can hardly complain when somebody sees her on a “go to the gym” day and raises a question. I agree that the way she raised the issue was over-the-top, but I have no problem with her raising the issue.
“I was neither trashing her personally OR her medical condition.

Don’t pull that “I was only joking” kind of crap. Sure you were trashing her by saying she was “playing the victim card.” She was pointing out how ignorant and insensitive some people can be. I didn’t read it as her saying “oh have pity on me ‘cause I have MS.”
Some people - and that includes MOST of the posters on this thread - have no idea what it’s like to live with something like MS. Is that me “playing the victim card?” No it’s pointing out what should be obvious to everyone here but apparently isn’t.
As far as “lighten up” - trade places with me for a week and I might consider it.

She ran to the press. Who does that?
As far as trading places go,that’s an odd statement since you have no idea what I go through anymore than I have any idea what you go through.
Everyone has problems.
