Mitch McConnell Leads Establishment Republicans in Effort to Push Roy Moore Out of Alabama Race
breitbart ^ | 9 Nov 2017 | SEAN MORAN

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and several other Republican senators said on Thursday if allegations are true, Alabama Senate Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore should drop out of the race.

The Washington Post released a story on Thursday alledging that Moore initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32, as well as other cases of sexual misconduct.

Moore denied the allegations.

“These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign,” Moore said.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “If these allegations are true, he must step aside.”

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) argued, “If there is any shred of truth to the allegations against Roy Moore, he should step aside immediately.”

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) said, “If there is any truth at all to these horrific allegations, Roy Moore should immediately step aside as a Senate candidate.”

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said, “I’m horrified and if this is true he needs to step down immediately.” Murkowski also said that she spoke to Luther Strange about becoming a write-in challenger to oppose Moore in the December 12 election.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) said, “It was very troubling … if what we read is true and people are on the record so I assume it is,” adding that “Moore should step aside.”

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) tweeted on Thursday, “The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying. He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of.”

The Roy Moore campaign said in a subsequent statement that if the allegations were true, they would have surfaced during his previous campaigns. “This garbage is the very definition of fake news,” he added.

Your list will include Linda Graham before long. He was too busy prancing in the streets for the loss of the pubbies in the race for the Va. governor, an expected win for the rats in a blue state;a minor talking point in the real world.

Those supporting Moore should argue against “carpet baggers” coming in to run Alabama politics. Never mind that McConnell is in the Senate. Kentuckians need to stay out of Alabama’s business and Moore’s supporters should make a big deal about THAT.

Just donated $50 to Moore. From Penna. So upset by everything these days, I can hardly bear to read the news. McConnell is terrible. Corporate tax now postponed, to damage Trump issues for 2018. I can’t remember when I have been so angry at legislators.

This is where I respect the Dems more than Repubs: at least the Dems stand up for their people when they get accused of something.

Their problem lies in continuing to defend someone even after everyone knows they are guilty.....

These will be the same people who stop the tax bill. They hate the American worker.

I see that the weapon of choice is sexual impropriety, preferably decades earlier so that proof either way can never be determined.

Why doesn’t Mrs. Moore (if there is there a Mrs. Moore) come out and utter the exact words Hillary used against Paula Jones, Juanita Brodderick, et al?

What happened to the ‘it’s only about sex’ crowd?

Yes all those years of silence and not a hint of this during the Ten Commandment issue either makes it sound like a setup. In addition I read that the woman didn’t go to the media that they “found” her. Made me wonder if they could find this one women in all of Alabama are they clairvoyant.

And aren't these the same people (McConnell, McCain, etc.) who came forward and demanded that Trump get out of the race after the “pussy-gate scandal?”

Roy Moore will win this senate seat & no amount of garbage thrown at him by swamp monsters will keep that from happening.

WHERE’S THE CRIME ?
THESE ALLEGED MOORE SEXUAL MISCONDUCT INCIDENTS OF 38 YEARS AGO WERE WITH FEMALES BEYOND THE AGE OF CONSENT. THEY SHOW NO IMPOSITION OF PHYSICAL FORCE OR WILL WHICH WOULD MAKE IT A CRIMINAL ACT.
In the 19th century marriages between teen aged women and older men were common so the age of consent was in the teens. Presently the age of consent for women in Alabama is 16. In 1979 according to Gateway Pundit it was 12. In Mexico it’s 14.

If this story had anything serious to it (and I accept that part of every man's life is one or more episodes of female-associated brief temporary insanity), I'm sure we would have heard the story while Judge Moore was defending the ten commandments so fiercely.

I think it's a fake - but don't forget, McConnell won the Lisa Murkowski and Thad Cochran races by lying and cheating, so no one should be surprised in the least by any of this.
