President Trump blasted GOP gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie in a tweet Tuesday evening in an effort to distance himself from the Republican's losing effort in Virginia.
Trump's tweet knocking Gillespie came shortly after news outlets called the race for Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, who looks to be on track for a comfortable victory.

Laura Ingraham said a few weeks ago, on her radio show, that she offered to have campaign and he never responded.

Ignorance is never pretty. Trump himself lost in Virginia by a quarter of a million votes. If Trump can’t win, his mini me won’t win either. Virginia is now a solidly blue state and it has been years since the republicans have a won a statewide race and now they are in the process of losing the state legislature. The state is blue.
Your comment would be spot on if Trump won Virginia. Trump did not. He lost the state by a quarter of a million votes. If Trump couldn’t win the state and a Trump supporter who ran for Lt. Governor lost tonight, then perhaps anyone would have lost. Virginia is a blue state and is no longer a battleground state. It’s gone.
The Virginia election was between a Never Trumper and a Democrat. This was not about Trump, Gillespie has never endorsed or supported Trump, did not ask him to help him. Gillespie is a Rove friend and political hack, a lobbyist. He lost his Virginia senate race because Virginians did not like him, he lost for the same reasons Tuesday. He is a corrupt loser that needs to join Bush Jr. and Rove in finding something new to do with their lives. Don’t pin his failure on Trump.
Perhaps Virginia is now a solid blue state in which Republicans have now lost 13 statewide elections in a row.
That has already happened. Less than 10% of the federal workforce are in the DC area.
The party can’t dictate who runs. No party can. If you gather the signatures and pay the filing fee anyone can run for office. One does not need the permission of a party or anyone else to run. I’m baffled that people don’t understand this.
Well, that means big losses in 2018 for republicans. The purity test has never worked and never will.
Why did that seal his fate? Virginia is a democrat state - a blue state. Trump himself lost. Why would you want someone to campaign for you that lost the state a year ago by a quarter million votes? Please explain.

If she had won her race, then your point would be golden and your posts would not be in vain.
However, she lost her race less worst than Ed, but she still lost in a comfortable win for the dem.
That tells me that both a GOPe candidate and a Trumpster lost, which means Virginia is a blue state.
Trump did not win Virginia, so I don’t really know if it mattered who ran on the republican side. Virginia has turned into a democrat state.

I’m just being sardonic. The use of the qualifier is redundant. There are no “true” or “false” anythings. There are simply liberals, conservatives, and those in between. Adding the redundant qualifier makes one more of a poseur than a “true” (or “false”) anything.
