Report: TX Gunman Escaped From Mental Health Facility In 2012

Devin P. Kelley, the gunman who killed 26 people in a Texas church, reportedly escaped from a mental health facility in 2012.

According to Channel 2 Houston, Kelley was institutionalized while he was in the U.S. Air Force after being charged with assaulting his wife and baby stepson.

A 2012 police report shows that he escaped from the psychiatric hospital after making death threats against his superiors in the Air Force and trying to smuggle weapons onto the base where he was stationed.

Kelley escaped from Peak Behavioral Health Services, a facility in New Mexico, and was caught by police in El Paso, Texas on June 7, 2012.

A witness told police that Kelley “suffered from mental disorders and had plans to run to from Peak Behavioral Health Services” by purchasing a bus ticket to get out of the state.

Kelley “was a danger to himself and others as he had already been caught sneaking firearms onto Holloman Air Force base,” the witness stated. Kelley “was attempting to carry out death threats” on his superiors in the Air Force.

Back in the day crazy people were either lobotomized or tossed into the county home.

Then the liberal pussies threw a fit...

Long term psychiatric facilities are needed. Many can be treated with meds but what to do when they refuse treatment....a big problem.

My grandpa used to work in one of those nut houses some 80 years ago. He said the staff used to beat up on the inmates quite a bit. One day my grandpa saw an inmate eating his own poo which was a very common occurrence in that place. So my grandpa thought he'd go rough the inmate up. The inmate jumped my grandpa and almost strangled him to death.

These things are demonic!

I am wondering if daddy had a few links broken in his records.

You don't get rid of the file, you just make it so that it does not come up in a search.

Otherwise a whole bunch of different departments messed up on the same guy repeatedly.

Does not seem very likely.

Exactly

Build HUNDREDS of new MENTAL INSTITUTIONS and start LOCKING UP THE DANGEROUS MANIACS that the Democrats let loose to run amok on society .

Start with a couple hundred thousand, then up it to a million if necessary .

If you ever saw the people working at Federal agencies you would know the reason why.

They don’t do their godammed jobs .

“ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO PUT THE GUY IN A CAGE?”

Under your scenario where he “has proven themselves a threat to the community”...which can only be done by violating laws...the answer is ABSOLUTELY.

It was once commonplace. And it should be again.

Let me break this down.
Was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force, after being held for a year.

Almost killed his son.

Was locked up in a loony bin, and escaped.

Yet no one, no one in multiple law enforcement, mental health, and military agencies bothered to turn in the dang paperwork saying “He is a nut, no guns.”

So, he got a job as a security guard (no background check) and bought a rifle and then shot up his mother in laws church.

Anyone else wondering about this?

For the love of God!

17 years ago, I went to buy a gun at a local sporting goods store. The nice lady at NCIC asked to speak to me (not common). The clerk brought me the phone.

A person with my same name was wanted as a gay animal rights activist out of Berkley. He was a pretty bad boy who had been known for assaulting people and releasing animals, often at the same time.

The NCIC agent said that she knew I wasn’t that guy as all the information entered in said I was a Nebraska born and bred engineer buying a nice bolt action at the same time the nut bar was in prison for assaulting (I kid you not) a monkey.

The NCIC agent suggested I invest in a pistol or CCW permit to “ensure there are no further problems”.

They flagged me because I shared the same name as a guy who assaulted monkeies, and let this idiot buy a gun.

So dangerous mental cases run away from mental institutions and that’s it- forget about them? No follow up in all these years? Then the crazy SOB meets a woman and makes another baby? You can’t tell me the people who interacted with him daily didn’t know he was a sicko. I’m sorry, I’m just going to say it- people who have been found mentally ill AND dangerous should be locked up for good. What’s more, I believe their children( should anyone be stupid enough to reproduce with them) should be sterilized. End the gene pool. Responsibility MUST be dealt out to the Air Force, the mental hospital and everyone who knew who-and what- he was letting him live among normal people.

Trump called it: mental health, not a gun problem.

How the heck does he do that?

Once the shooter was identified and it was know that he was recently in the military, the information flowed quickly to the C-in-C. Trump probably knew about the shooter's past before the public heard the guy's name.
