John McCain reportedly said that tax reform is ‘DOA in the Senate’

GOP Senator John McCain has done this country and the people innumerable services for which we unreservedly thank him. But the Arizona lawmaker’s anti-Trump stance and vocal opposition to the President’s practically every legislative proposal could jeopardize his reputation among the masses.

We could perhaps forgive him for his unreserved efforts toward killing Mr. Trump’s long-planned and promised replacement of Obamacare, but that’s where the people draw the line.

With Mr. Trump diligently working toward getting his tax reform passed, it may turn out that McCain could again play a decisive role in the bill’s future.

As Zero Hedge has reported, the tax reform is basically dead now that McCain, the third Republican so far, has announced his opposition to it.

The outlet goes on to say: What’s worse for the Trump administration, McCain reportedly wants the bill to receive input from both parties – a criticism that he cited as his reason for voting against the Trump administration’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. This is particularly problematic because there’s approximately zero chance that any Democratic lawmakers will break ranks to vote with Republicans, despite President Donald Trump repeatedly saying that he expects to win over Democrats.

The Arizona Republican has reportedly said that the current legislation is DOA in an interview with Fox Business’ Charlie Gasparino.

"In recent weeks, John McCain has reiterated his demand that Republicans pass their tax plan through a bipartisan process that honors the norms of regular order. McCain voted down his party’s Obamacare repeal bill precisely because it failed to meet this standard. And it will be impossible to pass the House plan – or anything close to it – through any but a rushed, secretive, partisan process", ZeroHedge adds.

Susan Collins said on Monday that she will not vote for the repeal of taxes on multi-million dollar estates, which the current legislation includes.

Bob Corker has also said that he would not back any tax measure that would further increase the debt, even in the first decade, where Congress would be allowed to do so. In its present form, the House plan would raise the deficit by about $1.5 trillion in the next ten years.

It is also uncertain whether the tax reform would pass the House in its current status. GOP legislators from Democratic states slammed Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady regarding additions in the legislation to revoke deductions to $500,000. Deductions for student-loan interests would also be terminated.

I thought that this was the beginning of an argument to support designation of Benedict Arnold Day as a national holiday. After all if we are compelled to honor McCain for his “service”, Benedict Arnold Day should be a layup.

Methinks tar and feathers is called for.

The GOP is full of democRATS in disguise that vote against the GOP's policies time-after-time.

If conservatives were getting elected as democRATS to sabotage the liberal agenda from the inside, they would be called out and kicked out of the democRAT caucus and not be re-elected.

But when these quasi-liberals get elected to the GOP under the guise of being conservatives, they are embraced with open arms by the GOP establishment even though they vote against their agenda time-after-time.

That's because there is no difference between liberals and conservatives in the uniparty. They're all establishment Washington DC politicians.

McCain is exhibit A. He's not a hero in my book. He's a traitor to the American people for conducting a personal vendetta against Trump's agenda at the expense of the voters.

"Lots of Cauterizing to do.

Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Lankford, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys."

I agree. Anti-Trump RINOs are hiding behind McCain.

The remedy, as you have already indicated …

Patriots need to make sure that there are plenty of state sovereignty-respecting, Trump-supporting patriot candidates on the 2018 primary ballots and pink-slip career lawmakers by sending patriot candidate lawmakers to D.C. on election day.

I’m thinking McCain keeps confusing his medical prognosis report with a staff report on legislation.

Trump hate is keeping Juan alive.

There is, IMHO, nothing Trump could espouse that McCain would vote for.

Going out on a limb here to say....

McCain is right.

Tax reform hasn’t got a chance. Not with Uniparty losers like him in Congress.

His bitter revenge against Trump.

Someone on twitter made the observation that isn't it interesting that McCain and Hillary are both in medical boots?

Nice coincidence or are the hiding something like ankle trackers?

...Benedict Arnold Day should be a layup.

Well, except for his final betrayal, Benedict Arnold did as much or more good for the country than most of his compatriots ...

He and Daniel Morgan came within an inch of taking Quebec for the colonies ...

He significantly delayed and turned back a British invasion from Canada at the Battle of Valcour Island ...

And he and Daniel Morgan (again) were the key factors in the victory over the British at Saratoga.

I would be far more likely to celebrate Benedict Arnold Day before John McCain III Day ...

Even JFK knew that tax cuts create wealth.

Tax cuts for EVERYONE create wealth.

The Trump tax cuts aren't for everyone. Certainly not for me! (Spare me the "you're rich, you can afford to pay more" argument.)

Big whoop. Traitor John strikes again. No news in this. Predicting this was so easy, even a North Vietnamese prison guard could do it.
