WASHINGTON ― You may have seen this photo of President Donald Trump’s motorcade winding down a wooded road last week as a woman on a bicycle appeared to give it the bird.
The picture, snapped by a White House photographer traveling with the president as he left his golf course in Sterling, Va., went viral almost immediately. News outlets picked up the story when it appeared in a White House pool report. Late-night talk show hosts told jokes about the encounter and people on social media began hailing the unidentified woman as a “she-ro,” using the hashtag #Her2020.
The bicyclist’s name is Juli Briskman and her employer ― government contractor Akima LLC ― wasn’t so happy about the photo. In fact, Akima fired her over it.

He had another video where he liked to harass Christians - it was a guy carrying a cross around to spread the Gospel. So it wasn’t his first rodeo. i watched that video way back when.
I didn’t see anyone on social media calling her a she-ro. Maybe because I try to connect with other adults rather middle-schoolers, or more likely those with middle-school mentality. I wonder why regular msm insists on reporting what people said on social media, unless it’s to apply peer pressure, like middle schoolers tend to, to conform to group-think, or what the ‘popular’ kids think.

Does it look like a freeway to you? It was near Trump's Virginia golf course. I would assume that's a ways away from any interstate.

The First Amendment protects us from the government, not us from our employers. They can fire you at will, with or without cause, so long as they don't violate anti-discrimination laws when doing so.

That’s the thing—according to this article, she didn’t list her employer on her FB page. For some reason, she told her HR department that her photo was this viral thing (why would she do that?), and that led to her termination.

Once she linked her free speech and personal identity with her employer’s in social media distribution channels with potential to reach millions ... the game changed. It is possible even if she limited her post to her speech and identity, someone else in social media would have “outed” her employer. Social media in a declining moral culture is changing the world in many ways. She probably didn’t think things through - how her brain was connected to her middle finger - instead of silent self-satisfaction for expressing herself without identification, it appears her ego may be a factor. In any case the assets, reputation and possibly employer’s future viability were potentially at risk. In this case, they are not going to risk them for an employee with her level and performance.
BTW - Shero = politically correct = heroine. Leftists should be challenged to live in different cultures and gender-cleanse relevant languages - let’s start with Spanish, French, German. I am sure they will be welcomed in with loving arms.
“We all know the type” . . .Yes, another angle ...possibly supported by the fact how quickly she claimed unfair treatment by comparing actions taken by her employer with another employee who got in trouble with social media.
The middle finger is an obscene gesture. That alone is more than enough to fire an at-will employee. If we had more consequences, we might have more decency.
Do you know what `employment at will’ means?
It means that either the employer or employee can terminate the relationship for any reason or for no reason at all.

The SS letting a vehicle get that close to the motorcade was a security breach. One of them should have shot her off the bike as soon as she pulled next to one of the SUV’s.
She thought the pic was her 15 min of fame, appealing to her leftist politic base..however, it backfired! So glad her employer had the rules in place, that allowed for the firing. Otherwise, it might have given her another platform in a lawsuit.
Social media is a ‘go to’ now for hiring, and firing.
