Startling explosions of broken glass all over drivers and the highway they were riding on led to numerous calls to Maryland State Police Friday night.
It was just after 8 p.m. when police began fielding calls about driver’s side windows getting shot out in moving vehicles along I-270 between Rockville and Gaithersburg.
A fifth call also came in from a car that was going southbound on I-270 in the local lanes approaching the exit for Montrose Road.
Maryland State Police say that, in all, four cars and a Montgomery County Ride-On bus got hit.
The vehicles all had varying amounts of damage on the driver’s side. No one either driving or riding in the cars suffered any injuries.
Police say no actual gun was used in the incidents.
Instead, it’s believed some sort of BB or pellet gun caused all the damage.
Anyone who saw something suspicious on the highway is being asked to call Maryland State Police.
Vehicle descriptions and tag numbers in particular are being sought. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
Right now, police say there are no suspects.

Back in around 2005, my husband was on a highway in Ga, heading to the airport early morning when his passenger window exploded. He drove up a bit, pulled over and then decided to head to a gas station. He said someone shot it out. Never found a bullet but is was a spring morning, not wet or humid and nothing abnormal.

The guy that did a roadside murder of a bicyclists in Colorado was in a red Chevy pickup about a 76 model. The 45 caliber “road debris” stopped breaking windows on I 25 just as mysterious as it started. Windows started breaking in Arizona shortly thereafter.
I call “Fake News!”
This couldn’t be possible. Maryland has strict gun laws- so this could not have happened. Unless....

That sums it up pretty well.
They had idea from the beginning who was doing this. They were surveilling houses in Clinton and Gainesville. ATF in Seattle were already looking for this guy.
Muhammad was caught in spite of Moose. IIRC Somebody on the investigating team leaked his car tag # to the press. Always thought Moose should have been tried too. How many extra people died because of Moose’s political correctness?
yeah that’s SOME KIND of BB or Pellet Gun.
Someone may know more than me I’m certain. But I find it hard to believe that any kind of Pellet gun is going to be able to shot out any self respecting automobile window. Especially at the distance required to fire from cover across an unreported number of lanes of highway and take out a passenger side window.
The media simply trying to minimize the panic about another beltway shooter in Montgomery County.

I’ve always preferred non-startling explosions.
