The Senate confirmed two more appeals court picks Thursday, closing out a week that saw them devote all their time to filling the federal judiciary with President Trump’s nominees.

Including the two latest picks, they confirmed four circuit judges and one district judge this week — overcoming Democratic filibuster attempts for each.

Senators voted 56-41 to confirm Colorado Supreme Court Justice Allison Eid for a seat on the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, then voted 54-43 for Stephanos Bibas, who is nominated to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Looks like they came to an understanding, it’s about time and good for McConnell.

Only if McConnell keeps it up! On the other hand, 12 for 9 1/2 months is pretty pathetic. Time will tell which it is.

56-41 and 54-43.

Hey, Dems, what happened to “bipartisanship?”

Maybe 60-70 per congressional year.

Except it’s 5 this week, but only 5 in the last 3 months or so. That’s not such a good pace...need to get all of them confirmed in the next few weeks, not take another 6 months. Someone needs to slap down the 9th Circus.

I agree 100 percent with you. In my mind, replacing judges is the top job for the President. It will last much longer then the President and we have such a horrible judiciary that I think a complete replacement is needed. Look at how judges alone can disrupt Trump’s agenda.....they are ruling America. We need to replace these judges. God forbid we get another Democrat as a President....we will....we need judges to stop that person’s walk to socialism or worse.

This Wikipedia page is a pretty good resource for keeping track of nominations and confirmations:

Did you forget the sarcasm tag? s/s

Those poor babies - though I can see why they need so much time off, they have been there forever and are ‘old’.

Once a session they MAY have to ‘work’ late (hard to say late when you consider getting in at 10 or 11 and going home normally at 1400 or 1500 so they can ‘beat the traffic’ and not be part of the problem - When I was in the Annandale area of NOVA and working in NE Wash, I also set my sked to ‘beat the traffice’....that meant being at the plant by 0500 and not crossing the bridge till 2100 or so—Of course I had ‘watering holes’ to bide my time, outward anyway).

Then when they do work ‘late’ it is news and they are shown bringing in(well supervising till the camera gets close) change of clothes, beds, caterers etc etc etc....Of course all the peons that are in ‘house’ getting paid by the hour LOVE IT....

OUST ALL INCUMBENTS. PERIOD.
Especially the HOLDOVER staffs. If ‘career government’ employees, assign them new duties. GET THEM THE HELL OUT OF THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS.

Any idea, jazusamo, on this particular batch of judges, of their leanings? (More like Scalia/Thomas/Alito/Gorsuch or more like Roberts/Kennedy/Souter?)

From what I’ve read they seem to be conservatives, more like Scalia/Thomas/Alito/Gorsuch.
