White House chief of staff calls for special counsel to probe Democrats

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said on Monday a special counsel should be appointed to investigate Democrats over a uranium deal during the Obama administration and a dossier compiled on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly speaks during a daily briefing at the White House in Washington, U.S., October 19, 2017. REUTERS/Yuri Gripas “I think probably as a layman looking at this kind of thing we need to find someone who is very, very objective who can get to the bottom of these accusations,” Kelly said in an interview on Fox News. A special counsel would be appointed by the Justice Department. Republicans in Congress last week launched an investigation into an Obama-era deal in which a Russian company bought a Canadian firm that owned some 20 percent of U.S. uranium supplies. Some Republicans have said Hillary Clinton’s State Department approved the deal after her husband’s charitable foundation received a $145 million donation. The New York Times has reported that Clinton, a Democrat who lost to Republican Trump in the 2016 election, did not participate in the decision. Republicans have also raised questions about whether Democrats funded a dossier put together during last year’s presidential campaign that detailed accusations about Trump’s ties to Russia.

The problem is that Sessions needs to be investigated, also. Why is he doing nothing while the deep state tries to destroy Trump? Is he afraid of Information that Democrat opposition research has dug up? What is he afraid of?

Sessions should appoint the independent counsel. As a taxpaying citizen, I would like to know the following: 1) the FBI, of which I had the strange assumption operated on taxpayer dollars, reportedly paid the expenses of the “dossier” funded by the Democratic Party - where do they have authorization to take sides in a national political campaign and how much of OUR money did they spend? 2) was the FISA warrant based on a report funded by the opposition party and colored with its political interests in mind?, and 3) old man McCain sent his lackey on a foreign trip to “pick up” this purported dossier - why couldn’t it have been sent via email and did we as taxpayers pay his travel expenses?

“Sessions should appoint the independent counsel.”

One problem. Does Session know an attorney who can be objective and aggressive in pursuing an investigation? A lethargic creature, with inside the beltway credentials, is not going to turn over stones to find the truth.

Doesn’t the DOJ report to Trump? Don’t “call for” one, appoint one. Republicans are such wimps

They're just doing what Clinton used to do. Wetting a finger and sticking it in the wind.

Many Freepers claim that Sessions has this all under control. He has been working 24/7 investigating the Clintons, Obama, Mueller, Comey, Awans, DWS, etc, etc...
While I would love this to be true I seriously doubt that Sessions has taken one positive step in any investigation. He may have made many steps to hinder investigations. It doesn’t take years to present indictments. It only took Mueller a few months to indict Manafort.

Watching Hannity last night, he kept asking why would Obama and Clinton sign off on giving up 20% of our uranium?

I kept yelling at the TV, THEY DIDN’T GIVE IT, THEY SOLD IT.

Sessions won’t touch the Clintons or anyone with a D behind their names...unless they are selling pot or in MS 13 because of his recusal to get his job.

“GRASSLEY: OK. I think, that’s — let me emphasize then with a follow up question. To be very clear, you intend to recuse yourself from both the Clinton e-mail investigation and any matters involving the Clinton Foundation, if there are any?

SESSIONS: Yes.”

Interesting. So does this happen when the left slimes us in the MSM?

Sessions recused himself of all things Russian/Hillary so no Sessions can not appoint a special console. Deputy AG Rosenstein is in charge of the U1 investigation assuming there is an investigation.

Yes, I saw that elsewhere after I saw the letter.

The timing is interesting. I’m thinking the letter was written over the weekend and released yesterday before the indictments came out. The indictments make the letter especially laughable.
