WSJ Editorial Board Calls on Robert Mueller to Resign from Russia Probe

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board called Thursday for FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller to step down from his role in investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, saying that he lacks the “critical distance” to analyze recent revelations about the FBI’s role in the saga.

“It is no slur against Mr. Mueller’s integrity to say that he lacks the critical distance to conduct a credible probe of the bureau he ran for a dozen years,” the Journal’s editorial board wrote. “He could best serve the country by resigning to prevent further political turmoil over that conflict of interest.”

The board was writing in response to recent reports that suggest the FBI uncovered evidence of the Russian bribery and money laundering in the U.S. ahead of a 2010 decision by the Obama administration to greenlight the partial sale of the Canadian firm Uranium One to Russian energy giant Rosatom. The deal transferred control of 20 percent of U.S. uranium stocks to the Russians.

That was the Dem plan all along. They put all these fake leaks from the investigation out into the media, hoping Trump would fire Mueller. That would have been the only Trump “scandal” they could ever fabricate out of what really happened.

Back at the start of summer, I stated that the Russia collusion would end just as soon as it was shown DEM involvement.

Mueller should resign and AG Sessions should investigate - that’s his job.

NO. Keep Mueller. He is occasioning a lot of good results. Things are not going at all as he would like but just because he is the Special Counsel investigating Russia stuff he is the reason all the Clinton corruption is coming to the surface where it is much harder for the MSM and the Press to bury it.

I agree. As of this moment, not a speck of dirt on Trump has been unearthed. Meanwhile, half the DNC and Hillary's campaign staff are wondering at what point they should call their attorneys. DWS and HRC themselves are hilariously channelling Sgt. Schultz regarding the Steele dossier. "I KNOW NOTHING!!!" and the LA Times is running a board editorial that could've come straight from The Onion.

I'm waiting for the WP and NYT to call for Mueller's resignation. That's when you know Democrats are less concerned about Trump and are primarily worried about going to prison.

How was Roy Moore the top choice for the FBI post? Have you ever seen any evidence that the guy even had any interest in a chief law enforcement role?

A former state court judge does not sound like an ideal candidate for FBI director by any objective measure.

Pretty soon, you are going to have Democrats calling for Mueller to resign. The reason is that his investigation has opened Pandora’s box of political crime at the DNC and Hillary campaign.

If Mueller exists, they can bring in someone who will say, gee I see nothing and so lets close this and all go home by sweeping everything under the rug.

If he does not resign, he won't as lefties have no shame, but eventually then brings charges against someone, say Flynn for a very small, insignificant infraction like not registering as a foreign agent or such nonsense, as is the case with special prosecutors.

Pretty sure since he has a conflict of interest, any of his charges against anyone could be thrown out in a court of law, due to conflict of interest, it is in the legal code. Mueller should stay, everyone agrees he is in conflict, I as a Realtor would be sued if that were proven in my business practices.

Mueller has his uses for Trump though I suspect that Mueller’s idea of the nature of that usefulness would diverge widely from DJT’s.
