Nikki Haley's Africa Trip Is about Fixing Obama's Mistakes
American Thinker.com ^ | October 26, 2017 | Robert Caskey

This week Nikki Haley, our ambassador to the United Nations, visits two countries on the brink of becoming the world’s next failed states: South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Her trip comes as optimism for South Sudan has faded as the six-year-old nation, famously “midwifed” into existence by the Obama administration, has sunk into a civil war between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir, a member of the Dinka ethnic group, and his former vice president, Riek Machar, a Nuer. The conflict has generated the biggest exodus of civilians in the continent since the Rwandan genocide of 1994 -- despite the presence of 17,000 UN peacekeepers.

Meanwhile, the DRC has just been voted onto the increasingly irrelevant UN Human Rights Council, even as president-turned-strongman Joseph Kabila has -- once again -- postponed elections in a bid to keep a grip on power. Elections were due to take place this year under a transitional agreement aimed at stopping renewed violence in a country torn by ethnic conflict in the central and eastern provinces, which has resulted in the displacement of more than 2.5 million people.

But Africa has more often than not been a place riven by conflict -- why should America care about the fate of these two far-flung countries and why is President Trump sending Haley there when our own nation is in dire need of reform? According to the UN ambassador herself, the trip is meant to scold both leaders and make it clear to them that their behavior won’t be tolerated anymore. But unofficially, Haley’s trip is the first act in a long-standing revision of Obama-era policies, from stopping wasteful spending to cutting ties to dictators.

Nikki Haley can do what she pleases but I’m still no fan of hers and never will be.

She supported Marco “open borders, cheap labor” Rubio for President and Trump brought her in because the RINO’s around him recommended her.

She’s pure RINO moving the Confederate flag in response to the mass murder in Charleston, SC.

She caved into a liberal media narrative like Lindsey Graham and the rest of the RINO politicians in her state over that.

Africa! For as long as I have been alive and far longer we have been involved in Africa. Other than the humanitarian reasons, I see no reason why. But no matter how much money and resources we pour in, we get zero results. They are still tribal and can’t feed themselves or care for themselves.

My understanding was that Obama was not too popular there and the local press did not mince words when expressing such opinions about him, as opposed to the Media Party in both the United States and Canada, in whose eyes he could never do any wrong.

"She supported Marco “open borders, cheap labor” Rubio....moving the Confederate flag....caved into a liberal media narrative like Lindsey Graham..."

Granted, she's not a "purist", but Trump knows that and he also knows she is actually good for something - she's good at being a pit bull at the UN, which is what Trump needs.
Regardless of her reasons for accepting that job, she's good at it - let's just enjoy her making liberal's heads explode and leave it at that.

“They are still tribal and can’t feed themselves or care for themselves.”...

I know this will sound racist but we have a lot of that right here in the U.S.

I questioned the appointment...but she's doing a good job.

As far as the flag etc...I believe this "stuff" will go full circle and all these symbols will be designated as historical symbols....devoid of the pc cr**.

“we have a lot of that right here in the U.S.”

and yet somehow we manage to grow enough food we have a surplus we can sell outside our country and we can find, process and distribute clean drinking water to almost every corner of our nation.

The idea we can ever turn these pagan tribal areas into productive self sufficient entities is a fantasy. Too bad the British couldn’t have had more staying power.

Despite her pass RINO ways, Nikki Haley is actually doing a MAGA job as the UN ambassador. I have been quite impressed by her, as she seems to have bought into Trump’s agenda.

“Nikki Haley can do what she pleases but I’m still no fan of hers and never will be.”

She should go to South Carolina and fix her own mistakes.

Or perhaps we should ask are the RINO’s in the bureaucracy and legislative branch, appointed positions using President Trump as the justification for their actions.

Luther Strange, appointed US Senator from Alabama used his position to run for election claiming to be a supporter of Trump.
