Uranium One: Will Justice be Done?
American Thinker.com ^ | October 26, 2017 | J. Robert Smith

Not much distance was needed to gain confirmation. The Trump-Russian collusion charges were all deception and diversion. It reeks of conspiracy. It was Plan B in the Clintons’ and Democrats’ playbook. Plan A was the election of Hillary as president. From the Oval office, she’d bury Uranium One deeper than any nuclear waste could be in Yucca Mountain.

The collusion nonsense was an attempt to frame an innocent man, Donald Trump. The principal aim: Save the necks of the Uranium One culprits. Let that sink in. We can be sure the president has.

House Republicans have just launched an investigation into the Uranium One deal. The deal happened during Obama’s tenure. That’s no coincidence -- not with Hillary Clinton around. The former president may be neck-deep in yellowcake. Uranium One is a tangled web of criminality. It appears to involve higher-ups -- elected and appointed -- on an unprecedented scale.

The bigger allegations: Massive payoffs to the Clintons, via their foundation. Bill also pocketed a cool half million dollars for a speech in Russia -- suspiciously at the time the Uranium One deal was developing. National security breaches by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in which Obama may be complicit. That’s along with his then-attorney general, Eric Holder. A coverup, involving the Clintons (of course), Obama, Holder, Lynch, maybe McCabe, maybe Mueller, maybe Rosenstein, more likely maybe Comey.

Wonder what Scooter Libby thinks of all this?

If “justice” equates to Hillary or some other high-level dem finally getting a long-deserved prison term, the answer is no. The best that will occur is a low-level lackey of the Clintons who will — just like the others — be willing to take the fall for them.

Exactly. The Clintons reside above the laws that govern us lowly common folk. They will never find themselves as defendants in a criminal case.

This is the new Benghazi, an “emotional wedge issue” as Karl Rove would say.

Its to sucker all of us into voting for incumbent Republican politicians in the 2018 election cycle.

“Uranium One” is really “Uranus One” for those who take it seriously and believe it will lead to anything serious like orange jumpsuits for Hillary or Barry.

Its a sucker issue to sucker you into liking Republicans who didn’t support Trump at the voting booth.

They need to be primaried out.

It sets a dangerous precedent – if real justice isn’t sought and rendered.

That precedent was set long ago. And what's sad is most of the country doesn't care.

High officials -- elected and appointed, existing and former -- willingly compromising national security for bribes, and then covering up the affair.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Seb Gorka "went there" last night and used the word 'treason' and that is what this is. The author also uses a 't' word that applies: "But their bad deeds must be punished -- doubly so for acts of treachery… treachery by the very men and women sworn to uphold the law and protect the nation."

Now there is context for Hilly's comment that if Trump is elected "we'll all hang by nooses".

He most likely understands the way the game is now played. He made the mistake of being a Republican and thinking that he had the support of his false friends, George W. Bush and Dick Chaney.

Yes, I was going to say that the (modern) precedent was set during WJBubbaC's first term; just tick off the crimes and scandals. Everything white-washed, ignored, excused. Then he got away with perjury with a slap on the wrist. Remember during the fake Senate trial, Dale Bumpers shrugged it off with, "what harm can he do?" Then we got a fraudulent foreigner, and don't tell me the elite GOP didn't know. All the lies, crimes and treason of the past 8 years... Yes, the "emboldening of unscrupulous characters" has a long history.

Will justice be done?

Not to ANY of those people, not on this earth, not in this lifetime. <sigh>

Tuesday evening, Newt Gingrich declared to Sean Hannity that Uranium One will be the biggest political scandal in U.S. history. That’s not hyperbole. Watergate pales by comparison.

I am not so sure. Watergate was a big deal because the news media wanted it to be a big deal. The same news media does not want Uranium One to be a big deal, so it will not be. It is not about what is more important or scandalous, it is about the news media setting the topics of what news is.

If the justice department can’t or won’t enforce laws regarding uranium, treason, and the national security and safety of every American, then there is no law they can enforce.

Tyranny. If you are connected and powerful you can reap billions and do what you want. If you are an average person a taxpayer, you are screwed and have nothing to say about it.

If Clinton and others don’t go down over this, we live in a lawless society.

I'm beginning to think the only way to right this mess is to have private groups similar to Simon Wiesenthal and company begin to make examples out of the most egregious offenders.

How about investigating Bill’s transfer of our defense tech to China during his term? I’d be surprised if some money didn’t change hands then, too.

You have a point. This isn’t the same media in a lot of ways

It did not elect Trump. He was elected in spite of their attacks

He doesn’t need them nor their approval and is not affected by their onslaught

He defended the flag against NFL sons of bitches and their wimp owners

Hillary is fighting to get him out of the White House. We lose sight of how bizarre and unheard of that is. She’s been so busy ignoring those who despised the Clintons’ lawlessness she can’t believe there’s a great enough numbers out there to beat her. But she’s probably fighting for her life Her having lost might not be like it would be to us losing a promotion or our team going home after losing the series. To her it’s this. And maybe more.

Trump oversees the justice department ultimately. I don’t put it past him to get the right

He’s saying the soldier’s widow is lying. This morning Imus said Trump needs to shut up. She’s a soldier’s widow. Imus is wrong about Trump again. Trump is defending the presidency against people who would use the status of a soldier’s widow to attack the presidency. They’re doing what jihadis do and we don’t put up with it. Next time a congress person wants to get behind a grieving widow as a shield and sling mud at the president they’ll know they can’t get away with it.

People are done with this. They’re done with not wanting to say anything about Hillary not wanting to be called a crazy mindless Hillary hater

I told a college kid last week who is very informed about public policy that all this talk about Russian influence is not only silly but directed at the wrong people. I knew two years ago she sold uranium to the Russians

I said the obama SOS, Hillary, was the one colluding with the Russians

Oh how silly you people are. I listen and read more informed people than michael savage. Ha ha

I sent her judge jeanines monoligue from last week. Ha ha

Oh. Harumph. Well

We are just over being called conspiracy theorists for recognizing a conspiracy when we see it

Trump knows this He knows it’s damaging to our discourse, to the rule of law and to our foundation. He knows he works for us

We’ll see

He does not have a lot of support in Washington.

Trey Gowdy turned out to be a disappointment he was a last hope

Before Trump

If the Uranium One rogues’ gallery are guilty but skate, it will rupture whatever faith is left in the U.S. justice system. It will hang a cloud over federal law enforcement; chiefly, the FBI. Everyday Americans’ belief will be validated: justice is for them, not for the rich, powerful, and connected. So great a rupture will be hard to fix.

Truer words were never written. There's a lot on the line here. What happens next in this saga is going to have profound implications about what kind of country we will be. If this is swept under a rug we become a failed state in IMHO.

Americans have already lost faith in our government, a coverup here will make that loss of faith permanent but a competent and fair investigation with real consequences can go a long way in reversing that cynicism.

Only vigilante justice would serve.
