McCain hits Trump where it hurts, attacking ‘bone spur’ deferments in Vietnam

*snip*

McCain, whose status as a war hero Trump publicly and controversially doubted as a 2016 presidential candidate, appeared to retaliate in kind against the president in a C-SPAN interview about the Vietnam War airing Sunday night. In the interview, McCain pointed to wealthy Americans who were able to get out of being drafted into service in the conflict in which he spent years as a prisoner of war. And he pointed to a very specific type of deferment which Trump just happened to use.

“One aspect of the conflict, by the way, that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest-income level of America, and the highest-income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur,” McCain said. “That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

It won’t break my heart when he parts. He pretends to be a man of great integrity but he’s always been a dirtbag.

I was in an Mech Infantry unit in Germany. We had a guy develop bone spurs. He wanted to stay in and even asked for a surgery to removed them. Nope, they put him out. Not enough Orthopedic surgeons available at that time.

In my family there is a 27 year career Marine veteran who earned Purple Hearts in both Korea and Vietnam. His severe wounds in both wars nearly killed him at the time they occurred. He was a chopper pilot in Vietnam and many times risked his life to save others.

I have never heard him disparage any citizen of this country for not serving, even Bill Clinton. When asked about this issue he stated, “ I shed my blood so you and others would have the freedom to make decisions. My choice was freely made and I would be a hypocrite to question another man’s decision to serve or not.”

The founding fathers rightly feared standing armies. They favored a militia of equal citizens, called to action when the nation needed to be defended. The cloak of moral superiority McCain wears due to his service in the standing armed forces of today is exactly the attitude the founders feared. The minute members of the military believe they are superior to the civilians they defend is the moment they should be dismissed from military service. The same goes for elected officials and government bureaucrats.

Senator McCain - we get it, you lost in your presidential run, Trump won his presidential run and you're bitter. But enough is enough. Grow the hell up and do what's right for your constituents. This isn't grade school and you're not the head of the mean girls table in the cafeteria.

I think you gravely underestimate these individuals. McQueeg, Willard, Shrub, Zero, Hillary... they’re all a part of the same corrupt Deep State Combine.

You think Stalin and Trotsky came to an amicable agreement as to who would be head honcho? You can share many of the the same views, but only one man can be king at a time. McCain did not give it to Obama any more than the Red Sox has ever willingly given the Yankees the World Series. McCain wanted to win. He just couldn't. He was good enough to win the GOP primaries because he was head stiff in a field of stiffs. Against a real contender - someone with charisma and organizational skills, he crashed and burned like he did in so many Navy planes. McCain is a piece of worthless crap - he can't do and he can't lead. Ever wonder why he's not Senate Majority Leader? Because all he can do is posture.

I cannot disagree with you more. I know a ringer when I see one, and McQueeg could not have possibly gone more out of his way to throw the race. He not only did not fight back the way he does against Conservatives, he also went out of his way to assure a crowd that they had “nothing to fear” from a President Obama. That couldn’t have been more fixed if you tried (of course, Willard did the same in ‘12 - both times their goal was to stop an actual Conservative opponent to Zero).

This moment, more than anything, was the “tell” that this entire election was a charade by the Deep State.

1968:
Trump received his fourth and final college deferment on 16 January 1968. After graduating from Wharton, he was reclassified 1-A on 9 July 1968. Trump underwent an Armed Forces physical examination (with a result listed only as “DISQ”) on 19 September 1968 and was reclassified 1-Y (qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency) on 15 October 1968.

According to a statement from the Trump campaign, the 1-Y classification stemmed from Trump’s having bone spurs in both heels:

While attending the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton School of Finance, Mr. Trump received a minor medical deferment for bone spurs on both heels of his feet. The medical deferment was expected to be short-term and he was therefore entered in the military draft lottery, where he received an extremely high number, 356 out of 365.

1972:
Despite the supposedly “short-term” nature of Trump’s disqualifying physical condition, on 17 February 1972 he was reclassified 4-F (not qualified for military service), presumably due to the abolishment of the 1-Y classification the previous year.

“Heel spurs cause local foot pain, tenderness, and sometimes swelling. This can lead to difficulty walking due to pain at the bottom of the foot with weight-bearing. Sometimes there is accompanying inflammation of the entire bottom of the foot (plantar fasciitis) when the heel spur occurs in the bottom of the heel bone. Occasionally, bone spurs in this location are a result of inflammatory arthritis, such as from reactive arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH or Forrestier’s disease).”

A good friend had to retire early from the police department because of bone spurs.

So this is how McCain checks out. A bitter, venomous, small man. He’ll soon be gone, and forgotten. His passing mourned only by the WaPo and NYTimes. They’ll have to find some new rino to act as their favorite republican hater.

McCain suspended his campaign in late September of 2008 for no good reason. He had no way of alleviating the economic crisis, nor did anything he might have done even work towards that end.

He is ideologically aligned with Obama. Endless proofs manifest of this.

There is no reason to presume he did not throw the election.

speaking of Songbird - it’s been 50 years this month since the shoot down. Should be kinda like the JFK release moratorium. Time for President Trump to release the tapes made by Johnny Boy during his Hotel Accommodation Stay. May well be other info that he went overboard at having blocked from public disclosure for decades. And his BLATANT lie that he somehow had knowledge that no MIA personnel were left behind. Tokyo Jane should be coming up on 50 also.
