McCain, whose status as a war hero Trump publicly and controversially doubted as a 2016 presidential candidate, appeared to retaliate in kind against the president in a C-SPAN interview about the Vietnam War airing Sunday night. In the interview, McCain pointed to wealthy Americans who were able to get out of being drafted into service in the conflict in which he spent years as a prisoner of war. And he pointed to a very specific type of deferment which Trump just happened to use.
One aspect of the conflict, by the way, that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest-income level of America, and the highest-income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur, McCain said. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.

You beat me by a minute. ;-)
McShame embarrasses us all, not Arizona alone.
Question of the day:
Which is more dangerous:
1.) Ted Kennedy’s Oldsmobile
2.) One of McCain’s planes
3.) One of Donald’s hotel elevators.
Don’t care Posties. Still think president Trump is super awesome - on his way to being one of the greats. Oh by the way Senator McCain takes bribes which makes him corrupt and a crook so who cares what he says.
Did Trump kill many of his fellow servicemen? U.S. Forestal. Google it.
If the Senate had done their job correctly, after the Keating Savings and Loan scandal....McCain would have been sent home and dismissed from the Senate.
You just remain skeptical.
The rest of us sanely understand the man and realize he was the best possible option in this past election.
I should have been president! That should have been ME!.
“Well, there was this from seven years ago.”
Interesting posts, when viewed with our current knowledge of his brain tumor.
Says a guy who wrecked how many aircraft? 5?
He reminds me of Lincoln Chafee the way he’s going out.
He had ample opportunity to be. He deliberately threw the election to Zero.
So, somebody is still spoon-feeding Juan McCainez dirt on President Trump. I guess gettting burned by that fake Russian dossier hasn’t learned him anything.
It’s kind of amusing when a career Navy guy like McCain trashes a non-military guy for not joining up. Unlike McCain, who’s almost never not drawn a government paycheck, being in the military wasn’t beneficial to Trump’s career. It’s not like McCain has gone out of his way to not suck at the government teat.
“U.S. Forestal.”
Seen the film many times. It does not support that version of events.
Juan was, among other things, a very near Annapolis failure, a Wet-Start Master, gigolo, and Bank Fraudster.
McCain is cancerous in more ways than one. If only the Soviets had done a better job on the SA-2....
A Viet Nam “war hero” brutally stabbed to death my elderly former landlord and landlady in the early 90s.
He put pillow cases over their heads, duct taped them to the kitchen chairs, in which I myself had spent so much time with those beautiful, Godly people, and repeatedly, viciously stabbed and slashed them, each one hearing the others’ cries of pain and terror.
He didn’t even let them hold hands as they died.
His only “grace” was that he didn’t also kill their terrified dog, who watched all this happen.
“War heroes” are not automatically lifetime saints.
*footnote. They buried his evil carcass in *Arlington* until the family put up such a hue and cry, that his corpse was removed from those hallowed grounds.
