After the rise of the Tea Party in 2009 as a grassroots expression of revulsion at government bailouts, spending, and Obamacare; after a series of insurgent Tea Party primary victories in 2010 over big-spending incumbents and hand-picked establishmentarians; after Republicans re-took the House that November thanks in part to that new jolt of fiscally conservative energy; after the House majority from 2011-14 successfully used its power of the purse to force debate and at least some temporary agreements on the debt ceiling, long-term entitlements, and year-on-year spending, and then after Republicans re-took the Senate and eventually the White House
after all this activity, when it finally came time for the GOP to stand up and demonstrate its values of fiscal stewardship and limited government, you could count the number of Republicans voting to restrain government spending on exactly one finger

Many RINOs are going to get schlonged in primaries.
We are sick of democrat lite republicans.
Its what the lobbyist party does.
D.C. Spending = Kickbacks
I realized that in 2007 and changed my registration to independent.
Took this writer 10 years to catch up?
I can’t wait to see what they actually try to run on in 2018. They already have betrayed all of their signature winning issues (no tax cuts, no spending cuts, no repeal of Obamacare, no border security) so what could they possibly roll out to try to fool the voters now?
See, see it’s all Rand Paul’s fault! Paul’s a kook! Paul’s off his meds!
We’re another Greece in the making.
In 2018 it will be War with North Korea and low unemployment.
Republicans Officially Give Up.
Fixed it.
They haven’t done anything productive since, well, who knows it’s been so long.
The Republicans aren’t conservative on anything.
Bad move. This reinforces the notion that even with three branches of government under their control, the GOP can barely get anything big done. In each case, it’s mostly other republicans blocking the way. Ran Paul proposed a budget cut of $43. Billion. It was rejected! Why?
We need new Republicans.
Most of the Senate needs to be repealed and replaced.
The ones we have are more concerned about citizens of other countries who broke into our country and are robbing us blind.
Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.
Probably a hundred more RINOs in the House that need to be Cantorized.
Probably more debt per person than Greece.
But hey, screw the grand kids, party NOW!
[even with three branches of government under their control, the GOP can barely get anything big done]
Yes, they should be steamrolling the Democrats. I’m surprised we actually got a SC seat nuked.
This article is from 1989?
That exactly what I posted here 100 times, defending Trump against so called conservative republican candidates.
Maybe they’ll run on SJW issues like they’re Democrats,
