Uranium One Means Mueller Must Recuse Himself from Russia Probe
pjmedia.com ^ | 10/19/2017 | Roger Simon

At the end of their lengthy editorial regarding the new Uranium One revelations -- "Team Obama's stunning coverup of Russian crimes" -- the New York Post editorial board writes:

Until September 2013, the FBI director was Robert Mueller — who’s now the special counsel probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election. It’s hard to see how he can be trusted in that job unless he explains what he knew about this Obama-era cover-up.

I'll go the Post one better. Virtually whatever Mueller has to say about his involvement or non-involvement in this metastasizing scandal, he must recuse himself immediately for the most obvious reasons of propriety and appearance. Frankly, it's outrageous that he, Ron Rosenstein, or anyone who even touched the Uranium One investigation now be involved with the current probe -- unless the real name of the FBI is actually the NKVD. This is not how a democracy is supposed to work, even remotely. Forget transparency -- this was deliberate occlusion.

unless the real name of the FBI is actually the NKVD.

That pretty much sums up the situation here.

Trump should use this to kill Mueller’s investigation. They’ve been investigating for two years in various ways and have no real evidence but are using it to discredit the President ... and now we know to distract and cover up Clinton’s actual criminal acts.
___________________________________________________________
It appears that is what President Trump is doing.

The purpose of putting enormous pressure on Sessions appears to have been to get Rosenstein in a position to appoint Mueller as special prosecutor, so as to be able to protect Rosenstein, Mueller, and Comey. There were early reports that Comey conspired with Rosenstein to be sure to get Mueller in the cat-bird seat.

I suspect that Sessions fell for this because he *knew* that Trump and the campaign was innocent, and believed that a recusal would put him beyond any suggestion of impropriety.

But when your opponents have no morals or ethics, and see such things as handy weapons to use against anyone who subscribes to them, such is shear folly.

The fact that this is coming out shows considerable hope.

Trump plays a deep game.

All of the corrupt behavior was based on the "fact" that Hillary would win and therefore be able to squelch any investigation. That all blew up on election night and that is why there was so much angst among the dems. They knew that the jig was up.

You are right, they NEVER planned for a Trump victory. It was inconceivable to them.

Mueller, Rothstein, McCabe and Comey are, of course, all in bed together. They all knew about the real Russian story and this whole thing has been a smoke screen. Hopefully Sessions is not as incompetent as he seems. Let us hope the indictments for this Gang of Four are being drawn up as we speak.

Yeah. Don’t hold your breath on that one.
Only if the GOP decide to draw a lot of unpleasant attention to the issue. President Trump is one of the very few who could do that, but he cannot be the standard bearer on every issue. Maybe Ted Cruz or Rand Paul could sound the alarms and educate the public, in the way Mr. Sessions should be doing.

So, so many captions would fit that photograph, I’m embarrassed to say.
The easiest take would be “The plane!!, The plane!!”

From what we learned this week, the DOJ probably already had enough evidence to take Hillary, Comey, McCabe and Rosenstein down on Uranium One.

So if Sessions knew that, Rosenstein and Mueller were the perfect choice.

There’s nothing wrong with allowing the Dems, Never Trumpers, and Fake Media to investigate rabbit holes where no rabbits live.

The fake dossier story is already turning on our opponents and proving them as dirty scoundrels.

Meanwhile, we’re keeping out opponents occupied. And they were all very pleased to see that Mueller was appointed. They thought: “Now we got Trump!” But they could not uncover a single thing of value. They instead have laid the ground work for the real Russian Uranium collusion to have more weight.

So I say Trump should keep on publicly decrying the Mueller investigation as he snickers at them behind their back.

And if Mueller should ever get out of hand, then Trump and Sessions have every right to dismiss them all since they were complicit in Russian collusion themselves.

In other words, the Mueller investigation can go nowhere and the longer it exists, the longer Trump can blast the commission as worthless and a witch hunt, which Trump gains political capital.

One final point, the Mueller investigation could ultimately turn on the Clintons and Obamas if one of the complicit FBI people turns state’s evidence so we can put the Hildebeast in jail.

“Mueller’s Role in Delivering Uranium to Russians Raises Questions “

“In 2009, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton directed FBI Director Mueller to deliver a sample of Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) to Russia. The uranium had reportedly been stolen. It seems particularly odd, considering that the FBI is not under the supervision of the State Department, and that the FBI director would personally make the transfer.”

And it's a very enlightening 2 cents worth. I think your theory has weight.

Rosenstein and Mueller were chosen for a reason.

...”There’s serious, credible evidence that Meuller was directly involved in the same conduct he is ostensibly investigating. Can there be a clearer conflict of interest?”...

WOW! This is sounding more and more like an organized gang of Government criminals. You hate to think it, but could it be true?

Well yes but he is an honorable man so we leave that decision up to him, said Jeff Sessions.

Good point. In fact, we have not heard the name of the uncover FBI informant who blew the lid on Uranium One.

The guy (or gal) probably helped Peter Sweitzer write his book and may have even convinced Trump to run.

The headline mistakenly assumes that Mueller is a person of honor. He has already proven time and again that he is not.

Democrats do not recuse and Republicans are too gutless to throw down and demand they recuse in any legal case. Ginsburg should recuse herself from most Trump cases because of her comments.

Mulehead is not going to recuse and will continue along his merry way. From sitting out here in the mountains, I am seeing the entire leadership of the DOJ and FBI are corrupt and have been for twenty years. I have no faith they will do anything resembling the “right” thing. They are crooks, Mulehead, Commie, Rubenstien, McCabe, dirty rotten crooks.
