He called to pay his respects. He just didnt phrase it so well.
Whew! For every positive comment there are a hundred negatives, slamming her! What a POS! Go see:

Problem is the guy didn’t sign up for combat. He signed up for free education, possible career, see the world, and all of the perks recruiters tell them about. Probably didn’t dawn on him that he might be in combat in some third world crappy country.
Nontraditional even for Amish folks. Maybe should have been Bullwanda.

You are right. Commenters are blistering her.
I’m surprised communist facebook isn’t deleting all the accounts criticizing this commie b*tch.
I would say that he may have even meant that it spoke to her son’s bravery and honor that he enlisted despite knowing that he might make the ultimate sacrifice.
I’d say that whoever is attempting to make political hay out of whatever was said when the President made a call of condolences to a fallen soldier’s family, is “disrespecting” that soldier.
Yep. She upset a lot of us.
Privilege of having the President phone and they exploit it for political capital. Sounds like the Gold Star Muslim who used his son to try to take down Trump. This too is one big nothing burger.
You should not judge the soldier. The service has been a way out of impoverished life for many. Your premise may have been part of this mans motivation to sign up. But you cant take away from them their honorable service, which cost him his life. Sometimes the service makes young men grew up, and yes it provides opportunities. But anyone who signs ups has to accept that combat is a risk.
They’ll have graduated at age 32. Yesterday’s 4 yr degree now takes 10 years. Must be all those extra classes on transgenderism
Good post.
Yeah.... I agree, except I would say that I don’t know if he served honorably or not. No doubt he got killed while in the service. It doesn’t seem his family or his family’s congress critter are acting honorably. That’s just my opinion.
If he was just an ordinary Joe Snuffy, I would be more inclined to agree with you. However, you don't go to Airborne School and through Green Beret training without knowing exactly where you're going and what the risks are.
Another radical Democrat with no shame using a horrible personal tragedy for partisan political attack.
Reminiscent of the lying phony Muslim couplet which slandered Trump at the DemocRat Convention.
Baloney and bull.
It's all part of the Demoncrats' plans to portray him as being mentally unstable, and unfit for the office.
The widow's husband, and this mother's son, did know what he was signing up for, plain and simple, and he's probably rolling over in that coffin with the way the Congress Critter, and his parents are disrespecting the sacrifice of his life. These people remind me of Michael Brown's sack-of-$hit family.
Notice there's no comments from the widow, Myeshia Johnson. She and her children are being used by his family and this Congress Critter for political and personal monetary gain.
Probably stated, as I’ve heard literally every soldier say, that when someone enlists they write a blank check to the government that includes everything up to their life.
It’s not a flippant statement but one of the gravity of the nature of the job.
Trump probably made reference to it by stating the nature of being a soldier and the civilians, congresswoman and family member, took it as a flippant remark about how he knew it was coming.
“Its all about context.
Bad-
Well, he knew what he was getting into when he joined, so, sucks to be him.
Good-
Your amazing husband was an example of best America has to offer. Even knowing full well that he was signing up for one of the most difficult jobs in the world he was committed to serving his country with honor and distinction. He knew what he was getting into and he was proud to do it. He was a true hero and the entire nation grieves his passing.
See? Context.”
Exactly!!
If I heard Trump's comment correctly, he said it was not true and asked the Congresswoman to take back what she said.
I'll speculate that there should be a recording and that a transcript of such calls would routinely be made.
At the very least, a family might wish to hear again the condolences from the President under less trying circumstances.
The widow wasn't even quoted in the article. This is being perpetrated by his mother, and the Congress Critter. If she tries to sue, it will be because her in-laws pushed her into it.
