The mother of the Green Beret killed in Africa said President Trump disrespected her son and family when the commander in chief called the soldiers widow and said her husband knew what he signed up for, according to a report on Wednesday.
President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband, Cowanda Jones-Johnson told the Washington Post.
She commented on the controversy that exploded after Rep. Frederica Wilson said she was in the car with the widow of Army Sgt. La David T. Johnson when Trump called and told her that the soldier knew what he signed up for but when it happens, it hurts anyway.
Wilson, a Florida Democrat, said Myeshia Johnson began sobbing during the phone call as the family headed to Miami International Airport on Tuesday afternoon to meet the soldiers casket.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Trump blasted Wilson for making up the story and said he has proof.
Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad! Trump wrote on the social messaging site.
Asked whether Wilsons account of the conversation between Trump and the widow was accurate, she said, Yes, the newspaper reported.

Miss Freddie is getting slammed on her Facebook page.
This is beyond absurd. Every Green Beret “knows what he signed up for” . That is to kill people and destroy their property”. This is a mark of pride . What this is and anti Trump effort which is racially motivated and exploited. Our Beloved President call in respect and spoke in respect. To acknowledge that a brave green beret knows what he signed up for is a badge of honor!! This politically exploited woman needs to shut her trap.
So true.
Whatever he said, I’m sure that what he meant was that the son had gone in with his eyes open, knowing full well what sacrifices he might be called on to make, and nonetheless did his duty with honor and courage.
I’ll choose Trump as winner for $400.
My fake news meter needle went around three times and flew off.
I have no doubt it’s paraphrased our untrue. They also said Trump didn’t even know the soldiers name — which sound doubtful, can’t imagine him not holding a 3x5 card or somethitgn without the soldiers name on it.
He was brave because he knew what he signed up for would not be an insult. Complete opposite.
she makes it sound like “you’d better put some ice on that”....
It sounds like it’s due to an education gap/ blacks that are easy to offend type situation. If you say that “the soldier knew what he was signing up for” it is just another way of calling him brave. Of course it depends on context and how it was said, assuming it was even said.
Is that what the headlines is about? oh.... well...
Any soldier knows what they sign up for.. it’s a compliment to say the soldier was not dumb and naive.. not knowing the military... I have immediate family in military.. I have a grandson who is in college and the military... studying to be a dr in the emergency room .. and yes, he knows what he signed up for.. he is being trained.. they all are trained well...
Get over the picky picky attitude! Touchy does not do well for ADULTS who know life can be good and life can be the worst... but are trained to manage both...
Trump talks bluntly... that’s his way... he is not a politician who has learned how to say whatever is called for at the time... and fake it... hillary and obama dissed the families of the benghazi men... they were killed by the neglect of the President and hillary... does anyone know where they were that night the men needed a “go”? Don’t think it was reported... obama regularly went golfing after he teared up for the families .. he had no good side of him... none.
They stood over the caskets and lied to the families... and all of it was given a huge pass!!
It’s all about context.
Bad-
“Well, he knew what he was getting into when he joined, so, sucks to be him.”
Good-
“Your amazing husband was an example of best America has to offer. Even knowing full well that he was signing up for one of the most difficult jobs in the world he was committed to serving his country with honor and distinction. He knew what he was getting into and he was proud to do it. He was a true hero and the entire nation grieves his passing.”
See? Context.
Never let a disaster go to waste... and it’s with a heart that hopes they are not trying to get rich over this death... while they criticize President Trump.
The state of Florida gives college scholarships to the children and spouse of deceased service members.
Meanwhile, Obama DID suggest our injured, maimed, disabled soldiers should help pay for their own treatment. Because, “they knew what they were getting into”.
Why would Trump even call to be disrespectful? Makes no sense. This is just more garbage created by creeps willing to use a man’s death for their on political agenda.
Lesson learned: never, ever, under any circumstances interact with blacks unless absolutely necessary. They will always find some pretext for being offended.
Mark my words:the widow plans to sue Trump for wrongful death for $100 million.Never mind she has no chance,it gives the media an excuse not to report on the Obama/Clinton treason with selling Russia our uranium.
Too bad there is no recall mechanism for Congress.
If I remember my social studies correctly from 60 years ago, there it.
Both houses of the United States Congress have refused to seat new members based on Article I, Section 5 of the United States Constitution which states that, “Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members, and a majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business; but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the attendance of absent members, in such manner, and under such penalties as each House may provide.” This had been interpreted that members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate could refuse to recognize the election or appointment of a new representative or senator for any reason, often political heterodoxy or criminal record. This narrative was written well in advance of Trump’s call to the the “grieving” mother.
Yep.... time to release the recording and move on.
