To: Salamander

I live in a tornado prone area, so the green skies are fairly common here.

The CA fires in this instance are mostly grass and brush fires driven by high winds. Embers ignite the structures.

I was once “in front” of a field fire driven by, oh, maybe 15-20 mph winds, in very dry conditions. That was bad enough. The flames were maybe 20 ft. high. We only stopped it when it got to an area of (thankfully) mowed grass. Can only imagine same at 40-50 mph, or more.
