I was RV-ing into Roswell, NM, with tornado warnings broadcast on the radio. The sky was green. I pulled into a State campground, and warned parents and children. After a five-minute scan for a good spot for waiting out bad weather, I found myself totally alone in the campground!
It's not too unusual for strong winds to pick up red dust from the Sahara Desert and cover huge areas. Spain gets it frequently.
At the turn of the century, Florida's "Cattle Egret" blew-in from Africa!
Horrifying!
!!!
/trying hard to ignore the *Roswell* connection
There are cattle egrets on the northern Outer Banks of North Carolina, too. Have several photos of them riding around on the backs of wild horses, which are running loose. One pic right on the dune in front of the beach house we’d rented.
What a retarded article. It just makes the Brits sound like they are all stupid. Frankly, all new reporting in the UK makes the Brits sound like they are retarded due to all the pop culture and sensationalism. It’s like a giant clickbait society over there. Too bad they somehow turned out like that. All my UK friends not living in the UK are fantastic blokes. I think they smarten up (except for Piers Morgan and those ilk) when they leave those cold and miserable islands.
Ohhh, well played, my FRiend. One of my two favorite movies along with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
Yeah...That day, I got a TWO-FER!!!
I saw a green sky once in Pittsburgh. A few hours later a rare tornado hit north of the city.
The sky in Beijing is often green.
I know the green sky thing.. but in Connecticut after the September 11th attacks the sky was also a CREEPY orange. And no planes in the sky made it quite eerie, and quiet.
Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. Red sky before night, sailors delight.

Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. Red sky before night, sailors delight. Red sky for years, Apocalypse fears.
I saw a plaid and polka-dot sky once.
Yes, yes, I was on psylocibin at the time, but I *saw* it.
The Sonoma/Napa County fires were initally primarily grass fires. There is some forest land up over the mountain between Santa Rosa and the Calistoga/Napa areas. But it was grasses and weeds that grew large in the spring/summer with heavy rain, and dried out. Heavy winds on Sunday, October 8 caused tree/limb falls and those snapped power lines. Those same winds then fanned the flames rapidly. Some folks woke up to homes on fire. The damage in Santa Rosa was due to mostly trees between homes, but the reason for the fast initial spread was dry grass and wind.
That’s it? That’s nothing. We have those all the time in Ventura. The super orange, pink, or purple sunsets are the ones I take pics of. That pic would only elicit a glance. lol
An orange sky? So? I see that every time I watch CSI Miami.
