California declared a state of emergency Friday after a deadly hepatitis A outbreak has spread faster than the states ability to supply the vaccine that can ward off the disease.
The declaration allows the state to increase its supply of hepatitis A vaccines in order to control the current outbreak, Gov. Jerry Brown said in a statement, according to CBS News.
So far, 581 people in California have been sickened with disease, which targets the liver. Hepatitis A is potentially fatal for people who with liver diseases, such as hepatitis B or C.

If and when a tourist gets hepatitis at the beach in San Diego the tourist industry in San Diego is going to take a big hit. All of that human crap in the streets goes down into the storm drains then out to the beach by way of the San Diego River. Tourism is a big industry in San Diego, and the idiot mayor and city council are putting it all at risk because they don’t want to enforce the law prohibiting camping on the city streets. I can assure you that the city of Del Mar 20 miles up the coast from San Diego does not allow camping on their sidewalks.
Was watching the Dodgers game last night and there were ads for visiting CA. Strangely they did not mention the Hep-A outbreak, one of the main causes of which is people defecating. In the streets. There's your sanctuary state.
California is officially circling in the drain....
How do they know whether or not this is unusual?
If they didn’t test people before they have no idea what the incidence of infection was.
And are these new cases? Or are they just finding out about them?
FWIW, last time I did the math, 581 out of 30,250,000 is NOT a huge percentage. It’s .0015%.
If it were guaranteed to be fatal, then yes, that would be a concern, but to declare a state of emergency for the state over 581 cases out of a population of 39,250,000 over something that could be POTENTIALLY fatal for some people?
Seems like a bit of an over reaction to me.
Naw, they'll just use Bitcoin.
That’s the rally problem: So many people go into panic mode. However, if you already have Hep B or C, A can kill you.
Bingo! Illegal scum dragging their diseases with them into our country. Nice job CA!!
They’ll declare it is the result of global warming ... betcha!
Haha. The “trade” routes across the border would be littered with cesspools of crap and other garbage. They would use the same routes repeatedly, thereby not only ingesting the disease, but also tracking it North to lovely old Crapifornia.
Don’t expect the illegal aliens to leave the nest they’ve fouled until the last penny has been spent on freebies, and there is no more to give.
Hepatitis. HIV. What else is in those bags of donated blood. Gee, hmm, can’t imagine what caused the jump in Hepatitis. Where, oh, where could it possibly have come from??
Guess they’ll be kissing up to Trump to send them $$$. Nope, sorry, let them secede.
Stop eating out, especially at food trucks. Wash your hands when you come home from work, school and shopping and wherever. Wash you hands before putting the groceries away.
Be careful of those chocolate popsicles, folks out there.
Kalifornia is the new Detroit.
Turd World country?
Stop putting stuff in your butts.
Easy.

Possible Heptetitis A transfer by transfusion ?
Homelessness and pooping without benefit of ANY sewer is not illegal any more and not even frowned upon. Ask the loony Gullibles right here and they want to “help the homeless.” They don’t understand that feeding them and buying them jackets, socks, and tents encourages them to live on our streets and poop on our streets. And kill us.
There are third world countries more hygienic than the streets of L.A.
More like “Latrine State” 0o0
