Why the secrecy surrounding Las Vegas security guard hero Jesus Campos?
http://www.freerepublic.com ^ | dragnet2 | dragnet2

I understand Mr. Campos had a series of interviews lined up which apparently have all been cancelled. Even president of the Security Police and Fire Professionals Union thought his disappearance seems, "Highly unusual".

And now we hear Mr. Campos has checked into some, "Clinic"? Isn't that what is done often when they want someone hidden from public view?

I don't think there were any eyes on all the guns going up to the room. Vegas is where trade shows go on forever and people drag in all kinds luggage and other items up to their rooms. And he likely got staff to help him move the luggage up there, possibly using freight elevators. Btw, when some venues get really busy, even security will help guests out with their luggage.☺ Btw, I don't subscribe to the arms deal angle either.

Who said there’s no video?

I think the poster meant, “Why has no video been released?”

And that’s a good question, especially if the cops are convinced no one else was involved. Because once they sure of that, there is no reason not to release all the video.

That’s what they’ve announced, not necessarily what they know or believe.

You don’t tell everything you know in a police investigation.

Agree. Its too easy to say something honest if he just gets out there and talks. Got to get the cover story together to protect the casino.

Of course not, but if the cops are convinced no other person was connected to the crime and have found no other conspirators involved in the case, there would be little or no reason not to release the video. No?

Bet the clinic is located south of the border. They can have a dozen cops guarding his house but that doesn’t mean there’s anyone inside.

Bet there’s a ton of job openings in Vegas these days and previous employees have left forwarding paycheck addresses in Mexico. Too many feds around and if someone sues over an illegal security guard, they may start looking at the rest of the illegals.

Campos was entered into the system under the MGM CEO’s name. Who knew that was the CEO’s job duties? He must be a busy man hiring the housekeepers and kitchen help on top of running a huge corporation.

That’s the point, they may say they are convinced, but that doesn’t mean they are.

Why put a suspect on notice you know about them? There’s investigative value to not letting them know, and depending on the situation, there could be value in making sure they know. It can go either way.

At this point we, the public, cannot make that call.

The cops being interviewed on 60 Minutes said the room looked like a gun shop.

Nevada US House of Rep. Dina Titus said housekeeping had been in the room and didn't notice anything.

Perhaps he hadn't unpacked the weapons and ammo until the last minute. It's obvious he wasn't anywhere near ready to do whatever his goal was if he was till drilling and installing cameras when Campos came up. The concert was on the last song so the crowd would soon be dispersing. He was drilling at that time because the concert might cover for the drilling noise. So, what exactly was Paddock's plan? What was scheduled on the concert grounds or nearby over the next couple of days??? Who was checking into nearby hotels over the next couple of days?

You've got to schlep the merchandise to the 32nd floor.

He schlepped it up very easily. It can be schlepped down just as easily.

He checked in on the 25th. He was back in Mesquite on the 27th (or 28th?) according to his community center. He signed in before noon at the lunchroom and asked the cook for her enchilada recipe. So, he was going back and forth between home and the hotel to possibly transport everything.

IIRC, The neighbor who sold him the guns was a childhood friend of the killer and they are also related by marriage.

I believe they traced ALL the guns and that’s how we know they were all bought legally. I’m sure the dealers even contacted the police as soon as they recognized the name of pic of Paddock.

OK, so you're suggesting the reason the cops/feds have not released any of the video of the suspects movements throughout his time at the Mandalay Bay Hotel was because they believe there is still a possibility of a conspiracy with others possibly involved? Right?

Okay, that's fine, but it's been over two weeks now with probably 1000 cops, the FBI and law enforcement investigators digging into this. And the feds have nearly unlimited resources. Remember, as of now, there has only been one suspect named. Not complex, as if 8 or 12 were named.

And to make things easy, they have the dead suspect, video, the crime scene, his financial data, his profile, witnesses, they interviewed his family, his girl friend, teachers, his neighbors, co-workers and everyone else who knew him.

At this point with all their resources, I'd guess either they have a conspiracy with others involved, or they don't. And I would expect them to advise those in Las Vegas area if they still believe there is still a potential threat...Or not.

Twenty-four guns in a box marked Fragile in a trailer under a bridge, 2 miles from the border, with 5 guards with AK-47s screams arms dealer.

He signed in before noon at the lunchroom and asked the cook for her enchilada recipe.

Ya know, if true, I find it hard to believe someone who was contemplating one of the biggest crimes in American history was asking for recipes, literally hours prior to executing this crime. Very odd.

He must have been very close to his "Planned Time" otherwise no need for the cameras in the hall.

Would like to know more about the drilling to see if that story holds up. Somehow, I don't think it will. No one around to hear him drilling. Maybe a task abandoned.
