The Democrats were once a political party. Today, they have metastasized from a political party into a religious movement and the beliefs of that movement are inviolable. As the Ten Commandments were the basis for Judeo-Christian religious tradition, the idea that politics transcend all things is the basis of the progressive mindset.
Democrats = Politics = God = the Progressive Movement
To the Democrat of today, all things are political and everything can be framed within their vision of how the nation, and indeed, the world should be run. That this country, in particular, should be run by them is at the core of their beliefs -- the identity politics, the idea that there are no legitimate leaders except their own, full control of the economy, where people live, where they go and how they get there, what they do, what they eat, and lastly what they think, are merely tools to facilitate their total control.
As Thomas Lifson said, everything is about “the state controlling more and more aspects of citizens’ lives, while it consumes more and more of their income.”

Make no mistake, if you think you should be able to live where you want, or drive where you want, or own the car you want, or say what you want, or believe in God, or think for yourself, or simply want to live safe in a free country while being your own person, the Democrats are coming for you.
We either rise up now and fight back, or the war will be lost, and the future described above will be all we have to look forward to.

That what the 60s "flower children" were espousing. And they grew up and became teachers and politicians. That's the nucleus of the democRAT party.
And yet they are always telling us to not politicize the cause-of-the-day (whatever it is). We all know, including them, that is just to de-legitimize our arguments.
This was predicted by scientists who say religious belief is hardwired into our DNA. If we don’t practice a typical religion, we will practice a “replacement”. It may be astrology, politics, radical environmentalism, sports addiction, even atheism, or any number of other beliefs.
We will adhere to something in order to approximate religion in our lives.

Progressive think themselves as gods. They acknowledge no limits, no morals.
Everything is acceptable as long as they can justify it as moving their agenda “forward”.
It is not hard to come up with plausible excuses for rape, murder, and genocide to move the agenda forward.
Their god is powerless and they are starting to feel the displeasure for their idolatry by one true living God.
For Democrats and other not-quite-organizational-Communist liberals Mankind is God and the Left is God’s brain. Academia is God’s cerebral cortex.
Having spent years in academia I think of it more like His bowels.

Politics is not the leftist god. The leftist “Shahada” is: There is no god but the State, and Leftists are it’s prophets. Allah HHSbar ;-)
I’m going to say more like the external aperture of his bowels, if you know what I mean. The Democrat Party as it exists today is an existential threat to all mankind. I mean that. Their policies will get a huge number of people the whole world around killed if they ever get full control the way they want.
