When a man is described as sassy, I assume he’s a faggot. You a faggot, Sasse?
The whole gist of Trump’s remark was NOT partisanship, per se, but FAKE NEWS. NBC put out a mendacious story that Trump wants to increase the U.S. nuclear arsenal “ten-fold”. That, of course is a blatant lie.
Violation of the terms of a license (due to technical fault or illegal content) may result in fines or revocation of the license. Licenses have also been jeopardized by misrepresentation on the part of the holder or failure to keep a public file (in the U.S. and Canada). Unlicensed broadcasting refers to legal devices allowed to transmit at low power without a license and pirate stations, which violate the law.

Thanks. I never thought of it this way. You are right. If the “public interest” is violated, it could affect the license to be in business.
The white Obama, right up to his detachment from the average American, also his monstrous self-regard.
This Fake News NBC story about nuclear arsenal increase is linked to Corker’s remarks about Trump trying to start World War III.
The GOPe and MSM coordinate their narratives. The RNC is as complicit with the MSM as the DNC.
Things are getting might fun now. The GOPe can no longer hide their desperation.
And the simultaneous hits on Hollywood (Weinstein) and anti-American sports (NFL) are delicious justice for We The People.
...”Sasse comes up in 2020. Im guessing that hes already noticed discussions by people to primary him. Sasse is a Yale guy. Probably has a plan B of getting into CNN or NBC after he wraps up 2020.”...
He is a Yale guy? That is really all I need to know.
Why should the USG be defending propaganda, false reporting, subversion and sedition as “ free speech”, much less licensing it?
Obama opened the door with his very direct and public vilification of Fox News. If the president tries to use the government’s coercive power to affect press content, OK, Sasse has a point, but if the Pres is just expressing an opinion about press content, that should generally be OK.
Sasse is comfortable being lead by the press. Speaking the truth after years of BULLSHI from the government loaded with worthless hangers on makes most of them uneasy....
Sasse is a #NeverTrumper, and a malicious one at that.
Sigh! As usual, the press, and Sasse, get it all wrong. The President didn’t criticize the press for “negative stories”, he criticized them for FAKE stories. The press, indeed, should be held to account for fake news.
“threats to revoke the licenses of television networks over negative coverage.”
It isn’t because of “negative coverage; it’s because of blatant and deliberate lies. Big difference.
Rhymes with “pass”, “ass”, etc.
Conservatives were really fooled by this sassy Sasse in 2014. Wonder if the Cornhuskers will remove him in 2020. Not too likely based on desire for incumbency
I am never surprised when a RINO produces CACA. Freedom of the Press with no accountability is your idea of how things are supposed to be, Sasse?
You convict yourself out of your own mouth of conduct unbecoming a senator.
Sasse, just because the “news stations” are allowed freedom of speech doesn’t mean they are not also an enemy of the people of this country and need to be called out and questions raised about how to handle the fact this group with first amendment rights is an enemy to the country.
AND Coker, Collins, and Murkowski.
In reality, the Senate is made up of 46 Republicans (many questionably Conservative) and 48 democrats, who are Liberals.
So we—conservatives—are outnumbered by Liberals 54-46.
In issuing broadcast licenses the FCC relies on “comparative hearings”, whereby the most qualified user will be granted use of the spectrum to best serve the public interest; researchers have pointed out that this procedure favors incumbents.
Licensing is conducted by a broadcasting authority (a government agency) to manage the radio-frequency spectrum and implement public policy, such as that regarding the concentration of media ownership. In the U.S. the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) does not assign licenses to exclusive users, instead permitting qualified users to apply for a license.
