The Fast Food restaurant Arby's is expected to release venison sandwiches nationwide and elk sandwiches in select markets.
Arby's venison sandwiches will be available on Saturday, Oct. 21 in all 3,300 restaurants across the country, according to USA Today. In addition, a limited-edition Elk Sandwich will only be available in three restaurants in the states of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. Which includes:
200 East 144th Ave., Thornton, Colorado 80023
2607 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming 82604
2834 King Ave. W, Billings, Montana 59102
"If people are interested in trying the sandwich, the only way to guarantee they can get one is to get there when we open or a little before and make sure they are in line, just like the folks last year," Arbys Chief Marketing Officer Jim Taylor said.
The fast-food chain reportedly uses a supplier in New Zealand that sells grass-fed free-range venison to make their sandwiches, according Taylor. He said the company used social media and feedback from hunters and to create the venison and elk sandwiches.
They are worried about deer farming....
Well i haven’t heard of cows going extinct yet so what is their problem?
I remember a episode of The Simpson’s where the kids are stranded on an island.
And the girl says, “i’m so hungry I could eat at Arby’s”
[ I was wondering what they do with all the maggot-infested deer carcasses they scrap off the highway....
Now I know.... ]
The maggots give them extra protein and crunch!
If you had been served properly prepared venison you would have liked it.
I support Arby's in offering the venison sandwich and I hope it is a big success. There is a very large surplus of live deer in my area and I have to be very careful driving around in the early morning and early evening house lest I strike one with my motor vehicle.
More deer hunting will mean less deer to run into with my car.
Also, I will definitely try the venison sandwich should it show up in an Arby's store near me. I might like it. I might not. But I will try it.
I thought commercial sale of venison or other game meat is illegal, otherwise poachers would run wild.
Ill try it.
I like eating things that used to be alive.
Especially if it came from the water, or used to have fur.
Except bugs, of course.
They might want to think about going back to the beef sandwiches that they had when they opened. These places like McDonald’s and Arby’s just don’t get it. We don’t want variety we want good food.
In the 70s and into the 80s I preferred Arbys over most other fast food. Then they dropped black cows, started horsing with the sizes and names of the sandwiches, went cheap with the liquid plastic chees, and the worst change was going to the gut wrenching tenderizers. A couple of those papain sandwiches make me smell for a week.
I might have to go try one of these venison sandwiches though.
Would that be the Arbydillo deluxe with bacon?
There’s one near a place that I like to go hiking. It’s a million times cleaner and way better service than the McD’s and Burger King nearby. After a day of hiking, I really crave protein, I don’t know why. Arby’s really satisfies that. It’s become fashionable to trash on Arby’s but I’ll take it over a lot of food out there.
(I havent eaten at Arbys in a long time but I watch whats going on in the one closest to my present clients homes because they make me sit in there so they can get the free wifi.)
Y’all complaining can just stay home then. More for me.
That’s kinda what I was thinking. I had a co-worker bring in a crockpot of stew made with venison and it was really good.
Ill try it. Something different out there to grab and go...I like it, we need more of that kind of thinking.
Venison has been the staple in my family for 60 years. I can’t remember the last time I bought beef at a store.
Like others have said, it’s all in how you prepare it.
Arby’s shot Bambi’s mom!
“...the gut wrenching tenderizers. A couple of those papain sandwiches make me smell for a week.”
I didn’t know papain had that effect. I don’t use it only because Adolf’s is about 300% salt.
Haven’t been to Arby’s in many years.
