The NFL Doesn't Know Who or What It Is (This is good)
americanthinker.com ^ | Ted Noel

When someone becomes a true Christian, he becomes a part of a team he can never be kicked out of. Think about that. Unless you decide to leave, you are secure.

*snip*

The same thing happens with devoted fans. They are important parts of larger teams. The NFL even refers to fans as the "twelfth man" on a team with eleven actual players. What's really going on?

Every one of these "teams" is selling something. That is, the team has something you want, and there is some cost you are willing to pay to be part of it. While some are defined as religions, the others are also religions in some essential way. And they all offer a reward for loyalty. Christianity offers heaven, Islam offers paradise, and Greenpeace offers a better world. Sports offer the hope of victory with the guarantee of camaraderie among those of like mind. And there is one thing more.

Teams love you back. The more one is sold out to the team, the greater the love that returns. It comes in various forms, but it always comes. And there is one, very important aspect of that love: it is unconditional. Your team will never reject you. You will always be accepted.

*snip*

But when the NFL took a knee, it violated this social compact. Instead of loving its fans, it reviled them.

The author of this article is Ted Noel, who is the physician who did the various videos on Hillary’s possible Parkinson disease.

Interesting. I was not allowed to join Cub or Boy Scouts so am observer in this. I have suggested no to my boys because they now have homosexual scout leaders. Whether they accept girls or not, I guess I really don’t care. Better they join boy scouts than girl scouts.

No. But hopefully WE know what its about. A bunch of ignorant slum rats being given an opportunity in America to make millions of dollars on the dime of patriot Americans so they can insult them publicly at their so called “games”.

Thanks in no little part to Trump, who was man enough to condemn these creeps and the angry public, they are now ( just SOME of them mind you) trying to make nice so they don’t loose those lucrative commercial endorsements and ticket sales.

If you are a football fan and give a rat’s butt about your country, you will turn your back on these ingrates and never go back until the NFL is replaced as an organization by something that doesn’t tolerate this disgrace on the playing field.

But when the NFL took a knee, it violated this social compact. Instead of loving its fans, it reviled them.

The root of the problem, and the reason why the damage is irreparable. The majority of NFL fans are finally waking up to the fact that the majority of NFL players hate their guts.

The only question is whether it is too late for the NFL to recover from this self-inflicted wound.

As far as I'm concerned it's way too late. The mask has dropped and I see the players for who they are. They hate folks like me. Why should I support those who hate me and what I stand for? I'm done with the NFL for good.

Actually I thought you were doing pretty good, comparing NFL to Boy & Girl Scouts. The main difference is the Scouts have adult leadership...the NFL? Not so much.

To hell with every one of these overpayed, spoiled morons who took a knee and to hell with every NFL team who allowed that to go unpunished.

I’m done with the NFL. If it spreads to other sports then I’m done with them too.

Besides, Sunday’s a great day to play golf.

The article is exactly on target - the players who express contempt for national symbol of our unity subvert the marketing of their product. By tolerating the first instance (Kappernik) of that, the NFL bought itself a bigger problem. Now Goodell says, “Hey, I’ve got an idea - let’s not disrespect our target market!” Trouble is, a year after Kappernick the owners now have a “constituency” of players who have been allowed to get, and solidifying their own minds, the impression that they have a constitutional right to subvert the NFL’s business model. Now there are people who are vested in the idea that disrespecting the fans is a right that they should stand up for - and simultaneously part of the NFL’s target market has taken that impression on the part of some players to heart. And are pledging not to come back into the fold under any circumstance.

By this time the NFL will, IMHO, not be able to staunch the bleeding without squeezing that toothpaste (players’ expression of disrespect of the fans) back into the tube. That isn’t actually impossible, but for sure it can be messy. Kappernik’s career will, IMHO, not be the only casualty. The NFL owners would have done well, IMHO, to simply fire Goodell and square away the problem themselves independently. But now the problem is that Goodell has beaten the owners to the correct position, his scalp has lost some of its value.

IMHO the NFL needs to hire Michael Jordan to handle the players, perhaps as Goodell’s replacement. Why Jordan? First, because he’s a black Democrat who can relate to the players. And second, he’s trusted by whites/Republicans because he steadfastly refused, as a player, to express his politics. He was asked why, and he simply replied that “Republicans buy sneakers, too.”

The author of this article is Ted Noel, who is the physician who did the various videos on Hillary’s possible Parkinson disease.
I still want to know what was behind all that. Is Hillary still concealing Parkinson’s Disease, or was Dr. Noel wrong?

It matters, because IMHO the state governments should pass laws against being on the presidential ballot without passing at least a superficial neurological exam. If Hillary actually was hiding a neurological disorder the state governments would understand the gravity of the situation.

Interesting. I’m no doctor but it’s obvious to me that Hillary has health issues. Her biggest problem is that she has her personal traveling quack instead of going to a real doctor.

Noel is correct in this in all respects but these black football players are Hillary voters, BLM Supporters and contributors, Antifa Supporters and America Haters and they really and truly don’t know WHY in their own little walnut brains. There’s not but one rule that’s gonna work to save the NFL if your a person who wants to save it and as usual Trump nailed it and that is “get this son of a bitch off the field”..................if he takes a knee.

Trust me. If it comes down to millions in THEIR pockets they will kiss anybody’s butt and do what they are told! Some attorneys will then file lawsuits and years after the NFL files for bankruptcy the issue “legally” will be settled in a hallway outside a courtroom in NYC or some major city somewhere (at the convenience of the attorneys and they will want to pick the right judge).

And who taught them the hate....?

Obama. He is the one they should blame.
He is the one who told blacks they were oppressed.

He lied.

The author does a good job of pinpointing a big underlying piece of what’s going on here. At the surface this is about a difference of opinion as it relates to the Anthem, the Flag and the Country. But beneath that, there’s also the fact that so many blacks have been brainwashed into racism against whites, and so you have the bizarre spectacle of mostly white NFL fans rooting for players who hate them. As long as that stays buried under the surface, it can go on, but when it’s surfaced into the daylight? Unsustainable.

I work at an airport and it used to be that nearly half of the travelers would be sporting NFL gear; now there are almost none.

And this is in PITTSBURGH!

The author has part of it. I agree with you that ripping the mask off of the black racists is a much more important part.

But, all of that could have been overcome if the owners started firing players and enforcing discipline on their clubs. They should not have said “we understood your concerns about social justice”. They should have said “if we want your opinion on public policy we will ask for it. Meanwhile do as you are told and play excellent football.”

Even the week-kneed politically correct owners could have been overcome if Commissioner Goodell took charge and demanded the owners to clean up their mess to save the sport.

This was a multiple-level systemic failure of the NFL to defend their sport against the leftist ideologues.

It will take a radical change of leadership at all levels to get the left-wing politics out of the sport.

Goodell needs to be the first to go.
