California is broke. Wait until the next big earthquake/tsunami arrives.
Yes, but it seems Governor Moonbeam has plenty of money for putting unlimited numbers of illegal immigrants on welfare and building a train to nowhere. Heck, California must be swimming in cash!!!
Pieceful religion using a new method?
Thank you. This is one of those things where information changes quickly.
Dresden. Where originally 200,000 were thought to be killed, by burning. Recent historical reviews have lowered this to 25,000. Hmmm...
Hot, dry winds.
I’m half a mile outside the evacuation zone. Half of my friends have lost everything.
All it really takes is one blaze, the wind carries embers over the ridges. It’s happened before, and this scenario almost played out in 1964, and would have if the population density had been what it is now.
People building houses in areas that burn every decade or so. Why the hell they let them build 5000 houses in Fountaingrove is beyond me; I get ‘private property’ and all, but that area was DUMB to build on. I’m just back from working at an evacuation shelter, I can tell you *ALL* about it.
Actually, Oakland lost nearly 3,000 home and about 25 dead.
$$$
Who says it needs to be a diversion?
so where are the 747 super water tankers ???
did Pelosi’s house burn?
You will have mine.
Yeah. The list of suspects is long:isis, illegals, the left or eco freaks come to mind.
Hell if I know or care.
FYI that’s in San Francisco, 60 miles south.
I wouldn’t wish what happened to some people on ANYONE. YMMV.
I was thinking of Hiroshima but Dresden certainly will fit. I don’t know how people recover from something like this.
Nancy and hubby have am estate country
home in Napa somewhere
As an old HOTSHOT (late 60’s), anytime the Santa Ana’s were blowing, we knew the fire bugs would be out.
We even had to shut down normal HR operations so we could be in fire camp and ready to roll.
Even remember my old foreman, Monty Parrot (yeah, that was his name) showing me on a map of the Angeles NF where his next fires would be started.
I was there in 91
On bike at 7 AM so I am 100 foot tall eucalyptus trees burning and blowing up up getting the bike trail to the top of Grizzly peak
Helped homeowners keep it below the ridge
It was gnarly. I was ready to escape to orinda at any moment on mtn bike
The only thing you want in. Case of fire
Fast and nothing can stop you
Smoke is what kills you
Two big gulps of smoke and you’re out cold
Scary scary October this year
No rain has fallen for six months and none is on horizon
SAnta Ana winds
Scary
Actually, nothing beats a 250 or 125cc dirt bike in apocalyptic situations. Light weight, go nearly straight up hills, stairs, through deep mud, snow, extreme heat, and will carry a load..A tank of gas will last for days. It’s why they’re used in combat/military/search and rescue missions etc....
They have the guy in custody who started the school fire but aren’t giving out any information on him. Could be a student or could be anyone.
Why? Because the developers can get the land cheap. Politicians love the bribe money so they don’t stop the development. No one cares about the future homeowners.
