I’m going to try and be a better parent and not protect them. As is, I have a gun loaded in a drawer within arms reach, dogs, door stops, alarm system ... not to mention a hand ax and aluminum bat behind the bed. Estimated I only need a 3-4 second warning, which is in place, to eliminate any problem. What was I thinking? Better to risk ruination, rape, and welcome being a servant to mind numbing life altering horror that could permeate generations.

Exactly. You gotta have a 12 guage pump for home defense, a .22 to train the kids on, and a handgun as backup for the 12 guage, something good and useful like a S&W snub nosed revolver. Then there’s sporting guns, guns that are just plain cool looking, and some samurai swords;-E)
