Washington (CNN) - President Donald Trump's tweets Sunday morning claiming he denied Sen. Bob Corker's request for an endorsement are false, two sources familiar with the discussions said.
Trump told Corker he was going to endorse him the day the Tennessee Republican announced his intention to retire, the sources said. "The President called the senator early last week and asked him to reconsider his decision not to seek re-election and reaffirmed that he would have endorsed him, as he has said many times," one of the sources said.

Anytime I see the three words CNN, sources and say in the same story I know it’s a heaping smelly pile of BS!
Of course Corker would say those words. I believe our President.
Trust Trump
That Corker isn’t a real corker!
exactly.
What would be so damning for someone to just come out and say “this isn’t true” it’s not like you’re giving some secret inside information. The Pres said you wanted his endorsement, and if it’s not true then say it. Who cares. Why does it need to be a ‘source’.
BTW, who believes the “sources” anyway? Corker was 100 Percent in trouble in his state of Tennessee with an extremely low approval rating and his constituents mad over his healthcare votes.
CNN wants us to believe he didn’t ask for POTUS help or endorsement when he’s in trouble in Tennessee? A big Trump state.
Somebody needs to light Zucker up.
That’ll make them think twice before publishing lies about the President of the United States.
...over some jokamoke who can't be bothered:
First up was incumbent Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), who made a surprise announcement on September 26 he would not run for re-election, one day after a Breitbart News report about his sweetheart deal in an Alabama retail center development in which Alabama taxpayers are set to pay him more than $3 million over 20 years in sales tax incentive rebates. Though his announcement that he would not seek re-election was couched in terms that claimed it had been made [a]fter much thought, consideration and family discussion over the past year, its suddennessand the fact that Corker felt compelled to offer a lame and incomplete explanation for his investment in a deal that epitomizes the swamp in which the political elite thriveunderscores the potency of the Breitbart News report. Thanks PJ-Comix for Breitbart Goes 'Old Hickory' in Tennessee, Gets 2 Establishment Scalps
