is 1600 rounds a lot? if he had 43 weapons that is only 37 rounds per weapon. Unconfirmed reports say I may or may not have a lot more than that.

A lot of articles reporting that number are failing to mention these 1,600 rounds were found in his car. It's not the amount of ammo he had in the suite.

If the tannerite was already mixed and he could see his car from his room, maybe he was going to shoot into the car and create a giant explosion as a distraction, or to kill more people. If that’s what happened, they are lucky he didn’t get around to it.

“Tannerite, not ammonium nitrate as earlier reported”

At last nights presser the Sheriff said he had both in his car. And more Tenerife at one of the homes.

His girlfriend used to work in casinos...she probably knows people, and knows her way around...FWIW

I think the pertinent question is not that explosives were found in Paddocks car but when were they put there? Oh lookee here, explosives.

PLMerite :" But the reason for the delay in entering the room was because Paddock had stopped firing and they were clearing several floors of hotel guests before explosively breaching the door.
If Paddock had continued to fire, I’m sure they would have just knocked the door down and gone in shooting."

In 'first responder' parlance, it is called "stage-ing"
You take time to assess the situation, evaluate your resources, assure security of responders, and then move in unison to a positivie outcome.

he sheriff said some of them were jammed. He probably dropped guns as they jammed and grabbed another. Also, he tried to blow up fuel tanks with long-range shots, which would indicate he needed a high-end scoped rifle.

The guy was living his fantasy with huge capacity magazines.

Problem is, all those super sized mags are very unreliable and have a bad tendency to malfunction and jam, which makes them totally worthless.

Most of the “evil” stuff this guy was using was unreliable junk that serious armed professionals dismiss out of hand.

Fun perhaps for showing off and clowning at the range, but useless for serious work.

It's a good thing he bought that stuff because his choice of basic firearms was on the high quality side, but the junk he stuck on them caused them to jam - thankfully

“And yes, I know the latter is a bit paranoid.”

No, it’s a reasonable question.

Anyone see that video yet where you can hear clear as day two guns shooting? I dont have the link, but no way was that an echo and I’m pretty sure the cops weren’t having a shoot out with the guy. Even people in the crowd were saying it was 2 guns.

The "authoritays" track your money all day long - but the information didn't serve them in any way for this guy.

So why are they tracking our money?

The sheriff doesn’t know enough to cover up like the FBI.

It is just a matter of time before they “brief” him, tell him it is national security, he has no “need to know” etc. because the alleged shooter was a govt. agent/informant.

We have seen this s___show before.

One report says that they can trace his gun purchases back to 1982. I did some thinking-—they cannot trace his prior purchases because the Brady Law was NOT in effect until then. So—he may have purchased guns before 1982. In 1982 he would have been about 29 years old. Someone who really collects guns doesn’t start at that age-—they start much younger.

Having 1600 rounds of ammo still in the room means he was planning on doing as much damage as he could. They may never know how many rounds he started with in that room.

However, I knew people that had over 20,000 rounds of various ammo on hand when Y2K came around. With all the hype about systems failing over the date change, they were prepared to keep intruders off their properties & out of their houses. ONE box of shotgun shells is 25 shells.

Trying to punish 80 million PLUS people for the actions of one person isn’t enough reason to ban guns. Most of American citizens live where they are YOYO——You’re On Your Own-—and not just for 20 or 30 minutes. The less dense population has known the YOYO rule for a very long time & they don’t deserve to be thrown under the bus when trouble happens. The cities will get the protection & help—the other areas will be YOYO & have to defend themselves.

I have lived rural for 35 years of my life. I learned as a kid to take care of myself. Hasn’t changed with more Dems spewing vitriol about guns.

Funny how they won’t volunteer to give up their Secret Service or bodyguards to prove they are right.....

There are only 2 windows that were damaged so any shooting could occur.

Both of those windows were part of the large Suite at the end of the corridor that he was in.

He used the girlfriend’s Players Club card & room was in her name.

IF he was a high roller & known to the casinos in Vegas, he would have been able to get such a suite—with windows that viewed 2 directions. There are 7 windows & framework of the building between the 2 damaged windows. COUNT THEM in the videos. To top things off, I am pretty sure he was comped that suite....and the food he ordered.

I live in N Nevada, and such comping of facilities is normal between casinos & high rollers.

...Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Wednesday that it was only logical to “make the assumption”...

He also said, in the same press conference, that he won't make assumptions.

The LEOs are enjoying the spotlight a little to much. They have PAOs to handle press conferences.

Go home and get some sleep, Sherriff.

““How could she know or participate in anything if she wasn’t aware of his ‘secret life’?”....”

I was being sarcastic with this comment; that big media would use this alleged ‘secret life’ as Marilou’s alibi in the court of public opinion.
