I am sure that every one of the Firearms, as well as other items in the hotel suite, will be fingerprinted. If there are other fingerprints besides his, then that would make your theory a good deal more plausible.

However, in view of Isis taking credit for this, and his girlfriend having been married to an Ultra leftist, it seems like the author of this opinion piece has more of a chance of being correct. Time will tell, hopefully.

Would it be possible he was heavily involved in pornography? It is known that many who have killed have been involved in that and it desensitizes them to the value of life.

“It’s been raised often enough in this forum, which I imagine is frequently trolled by the “so called conservative media”

I’ll add a few tidbits; he was employed by Lockheed as an accountant. Lockheed, being a DOD contractor Lockheed ran an extensive background check on him. If he was accountant then he probably had a college degree, presumably in accounting, finance, etc. He bought and sold real estate which suggests he was an intelligent risk taker. And apparently he was wealthy which suggests he was good at flipping. And, him being a risk taker is supported by his fondness for gambling. Personally, I’m not yet convinced he wasn’t turned by ISIS, perhaps by his girl friend. She’s a Filipino and there’s a large and militant Muslim population in the Philippines. Guess we shall see...

She has not only been located, but voluntarily flew into LAX. She has already been interviewed.

He’s the perfect case for gun control and that was his agenda.

His target also reveals his motives.

He was a leftist loon.

Since he left a video the authorities know exactly why he did it.

Hope I am wrong, but don’t think so.

"But suspect it would be difficult for a 64-year old retiree to sustain 11 minutes of aparently accurate 300+ yard fire through two broken windows..."

I don't know how "accurate" he would need to be. If he had scoped out the target area during daylight hours, the sheer mass of the crowd almost guaranteed a high body count just simply firing into the target area, regardless of any smoke. I mean, when I was in the infantry and carried the M60 machinegun, that was the reason that I put out firing stakes. Unless I had a specific target that I was aiming at, even with smoke and debris, my job was to keep laying out rounds downrange between the weapon stakes.

Using "mental weapon stakes" or zones of fire outlined by the window frames, it would just be a matter of "spray and pray" into an area packed with potential targets. To be honest, with the amount of ammunition and weapons he is said to have had, I would have thought that there would have been a greater casualty rate than what was inflicted. I'm 63 years old and I don't believe that I would have any physical difficulty in firing non-stop for 11 minutes, given the ammo and not worrying about burning out barrels.

Was there another way in and out of that room and did he have help from a hotel staffer?

I would agree with you, we should definitely wait until the facts are in. Speculation is merely mental masturbation. It is entirely possible, for example, that he had a brain tumor. This is apparently what happened with Charles Whitman, the shooter in the tower at UT Austin in 1965. Of course, no one knew this until after he had killed 15 people and was himself killed by the police.

An early report claimed first responders found Antifa literature in the room.

Leep :" One possibility for excessive weapons is another shooter(s)
We’re a no show?"

That's a valid possibility
However, he seems like a purposely lonely guy
who 'bought off' female companionship.
Even his brother admits that he didn't have a close relationship with him.
OPSEC requires minimal contact with others, and his demeanor with family suggests almost anti-social qualities.
His pattern of behavior seems to fit the 'lone wolf' scenario.

THAT is my one and only thought on this matter.

It is an Anti-Trump attack. The culmination of all the leftwing hate and violence....................

That’s my best guess, too. The make-up of the “God Bless America” singing audience shows that. Nor am I surprised there’s a 100% media black-out on such speculation, since they’re afraid of retaliation against their own.

Questions I have:
Why did he need 23 guns in the room? seems a bit much for one man.

Where did all these guns come from? the trail will tell us a lot. (Was he a dealer himself?) was he an operative?

What was the purpose of the ammonium nitrate found in his car and explosives in his home?

Trace the girlfriend and the arms back to their origination.

Did his “girlfriend” know he had explosive material in the home?

Was he really a professional gambler and that is how he made his money? Or was he an arms dealer posing as a gambler?

What are the significance of all the cameras in/outside the room?

If he meticulously planned this out why did he leave all this stuff everywhere?

“the largest mass shooting in American history.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Modern American history maybe, but not American history.
The Colfax massacre in 1873 when Democrats killed 153 blacks in LA was the largest mass shooting in US history.
Several facts in this case suggest that there really was no motive, just a psychopathic desire to do something as anti-social as possible. His father was a career criminal that was put on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for violent crimes. Psychopathy is very heritable and this diagnosis is also supported by his high risk pastime of chronic gambling. The obsessive and planned acquisition of a large number of expensive modified assault weapons and even ammonium nitrate explosives indicates a megalomaniac personality. From news reports he was attempting to rent these same rooms a week earlier to coincide with a rap concert at the same venue but they were already booked. He was probably going to kill as many blacks as possible to start a race war or some other delusional fantasy and when he was thwarted in his plans decided to switch to the country western crowd. The fact is there was no “motive” in the sense of some logical plan with an objective, only an egotistical and psychopathic desire to demonstrate his superior importance to the world and to cause as much suffering as he could.
Only about 5% of Filipinos are Muslim, most are Catholic. Also in the pictures released from her Facebook page, one shows her in a Mrs Claus outfit.
Is it customary for illegal gun dealers to bring so much extra ammo? It seems that ammo can be easily purchased legally it’s the firearms that are heavily restricted. Unless the unsavory types planned it all and brought their own ammo.
Occam’s razor dictates:
Deranged lunatic with a family history of physios, radicalized by the endless CNN rhetoric, suffers losing streak and decides to go out in a suicide mission against the objects of his psychotic hatred.
My theory is that he was a self absorbed sociopath who wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. No politics. No religion. Just the quest for fame mixed with suicidal tendencies.
Totally agree. Officials have only released a fraction of what's been learned by investigaors.
