How about a fund for battered football player wives and girlfriends. And abused football player dogs.

Just like Jesse and Al hoped: Don’t show them how to bootstrap themselves out of poverty, just throw more money at them and keep them beholding to you.

This fund will go straight into the campaign coffers of liberal Democrat candidates.

They need a fund to fight their own ignorance.

A player legal aid fund would be more appropriate.

Who are the unequal and how do we equalize them?
Not through edication.
Not through job training.
Not by being a legal citizen.
Give them O.P.M.

>>fight ‘injustice and inequality’

“to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahomedan, the Hindoo, and Infidel of every denomination.”
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/fighting_words/2007/01/jeffersons_quran.html

"Infidel of every denomination"

1. What does this mean?
2. How does Islam secure (or NOT secure) the rights of those within its purview?
3. Does kneeling during our national antherm edify the Republic’s ability “TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS” - or - does it subvert that ability?

Can I ask a stupid question??

The War on Poverty started in 1964. Major civil rights legislation came out of the ‘60s. Policies such as affirmative action came out of the ‘60s.

Have these policies and laws not resulted in any equality?

Why are the liberals talking as if it’s still 1955?

Will these players address the gang culture, the drug culture, the baby mama culture, of the inner city?

Will any “self inflicted” troubles such as the gangs or teen pregnancy, be addressed so that young men from certain backgrounds avoid self inflicted wounds as they grow up?

This gives a local slant, and darn few commenters are on board with this nonsense.

equality and justice” with hopes to “build a more compassionate and inclusive society.

I am sick to death of these words being shoved down our throats. Inclusive...like Russell Wilson's wife not wanting her photo taken with white girls? What are we supposed to do...stand back and tell the blacks to go ahead and loot whatever they want?

Recenetly, before this whole brouhaha started, when I turned on my computer at work I had to look at the word EQUALITY splashed all over the screens. Honestly, I don't know what they were talking about. We employ plenty of people of all colors...so I guess they're doing it to appeal to the black customers and white liberals. It sure had nothing to do with how I'm treated there.

I loved the Seahawks. I'm done with them.

This is a valid question!

I hope there IS a lot, that they put their money where their mouth is.

I believe that we have become a cruel age, sometimes even in the name of “kindness,” but it’s a “kindness” that doesn’t build around truths, but around lies. It’s a “kindness” that denies rather than a kindness that forgives. God does not love that kind of “kindness.” And that is why our modern liberal movement is failing. Because it isn’t doing it in the power of God, but trying to do it in the power of self. C. S. Lewis pointed up this conundrum by saying it would lead to such atrocities as falsifying evidence in trials... and to return to our situation here, how many false flags have we gotten from the left today? When things aren’t quite as bad as they feared, they don’t give glory and recognition for God for it... instead they pout and pretend things are worse.

Which, I hate to say, is a move that I’ve seen “conservatives” make as well, and then then smartly and smugly end up saying “it’s good enough for me.” Well, you ain’t the judge here! God is!

I think it’s very valid to come back and ask our black brothers and sisters to be sincere about this. Inclusive means a harmony; it can’t mean one group suppressing the other.

Now where outright habits of sin are involved, we can be merciful to the sinner while still desiring the sin to be superseded by grace. (Which is a step further than hating the sin.) This would apply to the “gay” groups for example. But they are not large; they have just become loud in vast disproportion to their size. Let the rest of humanity speak with equal emphasis and the disproportion vanishes.

Let’s start with them donating 95% of their salaries for five years. Then I’ll be impressed.

We should by all means invite black people to contribute too. As a matter of love, as a matter of care. And those who have more to spare, to contribute more. Anything less would be unfair — unfair to God, who gives mercy and grace.
