Erich Pratt: Gun Owners of America Fights for AR-15s Before Supreme Court
breitbart.com ^ | 9/27/2017 | Erich Pratt

An Oklahoma man uses his AR-15 to kill three armed intruders in his home. A very petite mother chases three burglars out of her home simply by racking the slide of her AR-15. A concealed carry holder, sitting on the front porch of his Houston home, grabs his AR-15 rifle to defend himself against a drive-by-shooting attack — killing two of the goons and hospitalizing the third.

Each of these gun owners faced multiple attackers. Each utilized a standard capacity magazine, equipped with multiple rounds. Sounds pretty cut-and-dry, right?

Well, herein lies the controversy. Each defender employed a weapon that anti-gunners disparagingly, and inaccurately, refer to as an “assault weapon.” So if any of them had protected themselves in a state that bans these types of firearms and magazines, they would be in jail. And this is why Gun Owners of America (GOA) is challenging the Maryland ban on so-called “assault weapons” and has recently filed an amicus brief before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Well, except when they're the super ultra high power bullet spraying like a fire hose kind with shoulder goes up thingys. Oh, and pistol grips and silencers.

The AR-15 is a proven assault RESPONSE weapon.

It’s a slippery slope, like hate speech. Everything the left doesn’t like is hate speech and eventually all firearms will be assault weapons. We have to take a stand here and now.

Or, as law abiding citizens, they may not have had the weapons to defend themselves. They could very well have been severely injured, raped, or murdered. Never give up your rights, never give up your firearms.

Too late. We should have taken a stand in ‘34, ‘38 and ‘68. Because we were remiss in that, we will never achieve what the Founding Fathers intended, viz. to be similarly armed as the military in order to protect ourselves from the very government liberals desperately crave.

In a home defense situation, my AR-15 would be the first weapon I reach for.

“racking the slide of her AR-15”

Even the gun grabbers cringed...

"In a home defense situation, my AR-15 would be the first weapon I reach for."

I'll take a 12 gauge shotgun with a tactical barrel. The first round in the chamber would be 00 buckshot, the second a deer slug and then alternating in that order thereafter. In the short confines of a home a shotgun blast is just devastating.

I thought it was a “break top” AR. No?

Same here. Mossy 500 loaded buck/slug. Even a Kevlar wearing intruder goes down.

Soon (Hopefully), I’ll be building a 10.5” SBR suppressed AR.
That would be the very best home defense weapon, IMHO.
No need for my family to bleed out of our ears after repelling a home invasion.

Outlaw Harry Tracy had no problem stacking up dead lawmen like cordwood using only a 30-30 Winchester lever action rifle.
No one called for a ban on those rifles as a result.

As referred to in the article...very cool.

Here's a web page and video on the Girandoni 22 round EVIL ASSAULT RIFLE air rifle used during the Lewis & Clark expedition.

Hands on with a 1780 Girandoni 22-shot repeating air rifle...http://www.guns.com/2014/06/14/hands-on-with-a-1780-girandoni-22-shot-repeating-air-rifle-video/

At my age and on a heavy dose of blood thinners, the big guns leave a bad bruise on my shoulder.

The light .223 is perfect, and the “evil pistol grip” makes an arthritic hand grasp the stock better.

Form follows function and the pistol grip is great for me.

Don't want to be in charge of compressing the air. 🙀

Now be a good little subject and go pass your background check!

In the history of the Lewis and Clark expedition, they almost shot a woman in St Louis before they left to go north.
While testing the air rifle, one of them accidentally bumped the trigger and the bullet went through the hat of a woman walking down the street.

You left out ghost guns with a 30 caliber magazine clip. What were you thinking?

That’s my loadout. 00 buck alternating with Brenneke slugs. For the win.
