Kaepernick and Curry Pop the Sports Bubble
American Greatness ^ | September 23,2017 | Chris Buskirk|

Posted on 09/24/2017 11:50:26 AM PDT by Hojczyk

Who would have thought that Colin Kaepernick would actually do the nation a great service?

He’s been a change agent alright, but not in the way he hoped. His well-documented inadequacies on the field got him benched by the San Francisco 49ers, which led him to pursue a career as a free agent. But it was Kaepernick’s political theatrics that made him toxic to many fans and thus to potential employers. Still, those of us who love America owe him a debt of gratitude.

It took Colin Kaepernick to pop the sports bubble.

We’ve all watched the bubble inflate for years. Palatial new stadiums were built (often with tax dollars), multi-billion dollar television deals were signed, and multi-platinum player contracts shocked our sensibilities. Combined with sky-high ticket prices that put a night at the game out of reach for many families, these were all signs that things had gone too far.

But how and when a bubble will deflate is anyone’s guess. Usually—maybe always—it’s done in by the excesses of its biggest beneficiaries. Exhibit A is the housing crisis of last decade.

Intoxicated with their own sense of self-righteousness today’s athlete-protesters look more like rich drunks spouting nonsense than responsible citizens seeking redress. And in doing so they have popped the sports bubble and reminded us that we should stop idolizing overprivileged millionaire Millennials who disrespect this country, her people, and her history. Millions of Americans have recoiled at the divisiveness brought into sports by people like Kaepernick and Curry. And for this we can thank them.

Less than a month until college hoops starts, and another exciting year of Gonzaga basketball. High school football will keep me fully occupied until then. I live in the mecca of Friday Night Lights, North Texas. It's not just the game, it's the entire spectacle, the bands, the drill teams, etc.

Half of the top 30 HS bands in the country are from Texas, close to 10 of those are in D/FW. My son plays JV football and trumpet in varsity band. I drop him off for practice at 6 AM and pick him up from band at 7 PM. Keeps us both out of trouble...lol.

All those black players are “owned” by the NFL team “Owners”...they are literally SLAVES!!!!

They should “run-away” to Canada using the underground network of “private jets” they can charter with their vast wealth!

It is the principle of the thing, they shouldn’t be slaves anymore!

Did slaves on cotton plantations just “Take a Knee” in the cotton field, NOPE, they fled to Canada!

All these cowardly chicken necked NFL slaves need to get in their fancy jets and fly to Canada for the winter football season on the “UnderGround Airways”!

They drew the line today. I feel so foolish; I actually thought the organization had integrity only insomuch as country might be put before the game. They clearly only care about themselves. This is the first Sunday ever that I’m not purposefully watching the Broncos. It’s been fun.

I went to the Reds vs. Red Sox game today to see if the players would respect our flag and country during the playing of the national anthem.

All the Reds players came out onto the field and showed the proper respect. Only about 7 Boston players did. The rest stayed in the clubhouse and didn’t even come out to the dugout until it was over.

So far, the two scoops of ice-cream for Trump is my favorite of the left-wing meltdowns.
