The sports world has responded to President Trump’s criticisms of NFL players who protest against the national anthem. On Friday night, Trump gave a fiery speech in Huntsville, Alabama, while speaking at a rally for Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange. President Trump referred to NFL players who protest the anthem as as “SOB’s.” He also said that it would be a winning public relations move if an NFL owner were to “fire” a player for such a protest.

Trump said:

By Saturday evening, the NFL Players Association, Commissioner Goodell, and the leadership of several different NFL franchises, had responded to Trump.

I won’t be watching football this Sunday. Might watch the Cowboys on Monday, even though I loathe them as a (former) Eagles fan, as Jerry Jones has stated opposition to the on-field player idiocy. That is how bad this has gotten.

THis is another front to destroy and take down the media imo. THe NFL money subsidizes a lot of fake news and leftist tv. taking this country back is not going to be pretty but we have to take back the culture.

They are taking the bait.

Trump has laid out a big juicy steak for wild dogs. Trump already knows what reaction he is going to get.

the NFL has brought a shitstorm upon itself.

This is about as unAmerican as it gets, and I’m sick of it.

I was sick of it on day one.

Kaepernick should have been fired by the end of that day.

This would not be happening.

The owners and players picked the wrong side of this fight. They will lose badly. It will literally cost owners and players billions of dollars based on the slide in attendance and network viewing. Hopefully Goodell will lose his job over this. They are extremely fortunate that the network contract runs through 2021/22. Players can look forward to drastically lower contract renewals as this cushion expires and the attendance and network viewing sinks.

Trump is so right on this. The NFL was cooked the day the let Kapernick and others bring their politics onto the field. Football is now a political football. No fan will tune in to see a bunch of overpaid prima donnas insult America.

“Why do I get the sinking feeling the global leftists would love it if the NFL failed.”

I don’t know what leftists want - other than to use the NFL like they use every other institution or corporation.

I know I am not sending the NFL any money or watching their football on the electric television. I hope they fail.

move the frigging franchise to someplace else, such as North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela

Let these A-holes move, and play football in Africa. I'm sure they'd find it much more to their liking.

The NFL is largely an extension of BLM today.

Payback is a bitch and these owners are going to have half the country ticked off at them. It’s childish. Trump has nothing to lose over this. The owners and players have everything to lose.

Of course they are not too bright anyway. After all they are jocks, right?

I hate football and never watch but have been following this story.

There are a lot of posts here about the NFL making a big mistake by alienating the fans.

Have there ever been any boos or protests by people that actually attend the games?

Their ‘product’ is marginalized. I don’t see a recovery coming. Toss in the anticipated brain-injury situation getting worse. I’d say they have less than a decade of existence left in them.

SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS is what taxpayers have put up in corporate welfare to build stadiums around the country where these thugs can insult our flag and our veterans.

SEVEN BILLION.

Trump needs to go after that.

Don’t know, but I doubt it...They’d have to boo the National Anthem.

My husband just said two things make Trump tweets so powerful & drive the left insane:
He’s one of us and he’s a proud American.
